Since I have been a member it's been great here all the members are friendly and the shakes are fantastic. I don't know why this Christopher Jones guy has such a bad look on this gym. This is a real gym the you can tell the equipment is used regularly and is used past it's limits. The equipment does indeed have surface rust which is normal when dealing in a environment that has SWEAT. Salt, water, and, iron don't particularly go well together. To his floor cleaning comment, I don't expect the floor to be very clean, no one should ever expect that in a gym it's used to give you a stable lifting surface not for you to eat off of... Overall I love the gym, the people, and the atmosphere. It feels like my high school lifting room every time i go there.

I'm not sure what has changed since the previous reviews but I was very disappointed with this gym. It has been six month since I last forced myself to walk into the building so things may have changed but my experiences at Ultimate Fitness were very poor. The building itself appears to be a renovated basketball gym that has been broken down into different rooms. Each room has different (and usually uneven) lighting that often had 2-3 bulbs burned out. During my time working out there I only saw the floors being cleaned twice. I even left small pieces of paper in specific locations to see if the staff was regularly cleaning the floors, which they were not. Aside from the specific personal trainers, the staff has very little knowledge about the equipment and would give conflicting information about standard items (what is the weight of a straight bench press bar, a curved curl bar, etc). The employees at the front desk are there mainly to talk to customers and sell shakes, t-shirts and power bars. Otherwise there's no reason to speak to them. The rooms and equipment are very poorly maintained. The dumbbell room in particular has a modular floor system installed to try and protect the hardwood basketball floor underneath. BE CAREFUL IN THIS ROOM! The modular floor literally has holes in it from where people have dropped dumbbells. Trying to find a stable place to stand is difficult and you can easily roll an ankle if you're not paying attention to where you walk. The equipment appears to be a hodge-podge assortment of previously used items in various states of disrepair. Padding on machines is worn, broken or taped over. Some machines have rust coming through the paint and the cardio equipment often had worn/broken controls. While I was attending this gym an entire row of ellipticals were marked as "under repair." Save yourself the time and money and go to a quality franchise gym. Setting up your own workout area in your garage/basement would probably be more enjoyable than working out in this dungeon.

Great gym. Lots of equipment.

Love this place. At other clubs, I have to sign up for, and wait for equipment. At Ultimate I never wait for anything, ever. I like to use both locations, and they are both well-maintained. Another thing I like is the many small, separate rooms (including ladies-only rooms), instead of a big fishbowl like all the other clubs (I am self-conscoius). I really enjoy the variety of free classes, and the pool. I can also relax in the jacuzzis and saunas. My kids love the jungle gym! My favorite thing is the atmosphere and employees. At other gyms, I feel I have to dress a certain way to fit in (lots of spandex queens), and everyone seems to have an 'attitude'. At Ultimate, just come as you are, and the staff is super-friendly(and the GM, Amanda has been there over 20 years!) Definitely a non-intimidating atmosphere. I really love the Activtrax (free workout guidance). Every time I come in I have a new and different workout ready for me to maximize my results, and the staff helps me all the time, for no extra cost. (most clubs try to sell me an expensive personal training package with a trainer who is rude) The best thing is the cost. I get the best service and equipment for a low reasonable cost. I have lost over 50 pounds, and hope to lose 50 more. Thank you Ultimate Fitness for changing my life!
