I really like this gym but there are indeed flies in the change-room from time to time. I'm not sure that it's because of the garbage because the garbage bins are never overflowing; I typically see them on the benches and around the wall in the men's change-room, directly to the lockers on the right when you first enter (in that little alcove if you make two right hand turns after entering the change-room). It's gross and pesky, and overall the men's change-room is a mess and is overcrowded for its size. It doesn't look like the staff clears out the lockers as I've seen some lockers that have had the same lock on them for months on end no matter what time of the day I go at, locker doors are always left wide open, a few lockers are missing doors or are hanging very loose on their hinges. Lots of dirty towels left around on the benches/floors, and as a paying towel service member obviously this is somewhat dismaying. I avoid the shower room altogether because I can only imagine how dirty the floors are (so unless you have flip-flops I can't imagine wanting to stand barefoot on it) and some of the guys who go in and out of there seem a bit creepy too (not all, but some look like they stare too much). Overall, the change-room could be vastly improved... Having said that, I think the staff do a wonderful job in running the gym. The men's change-room is really my only gripe. The equipment is pretty top notch as far as I'm concerned, and there's lots of it. I'd say almost all of the staff members are really helpful and friendly, save for a few new faces now and then but they never seem to last. I've been a member since 2006 and this is pretty well the only location I've gone to save for the odd trip to a couple of other Goodlife locations in North York, and this one is leagues better than either of the other ones I went to. Overall, it's near-excellent, and the problems I have with it can be attributed to other members more than it can be the staff (since it's other members who make and leave messes in the change-room). *Edit: For a while during 2013-2014 there was a period when the cleaners were not putting paper towels in the dispensers, making it difficult to clean off equipment post-workout. This seems to have been rectified, however, as I have seen no issues with the dispensers being empty at all this year.

Forget what Drew Andrew said as he is likely basing his review of a one day visit... every gym has a bad day .The gym Manager takes care of just about everything in the gym , mirrors were broken and were taken down followed by letter explaining the situation with details of the replacement , replaced in 2 days . Furthermore, big water pipe burst in pt area which was replaced and taken care of in 2-3 days like it never happened. PLENTY OF CARDIO machines.Weights are hardly left on the floor to the point were people trip , not to say it doesn't happen but it doesn't happen on regular basis. Good amount of benches for every angle. Large amount of dumbbells , if the gym is packed at the busiest hour expect to occasionally have to use a different weights or bench but that's something every gym experiences la , anytime etc . plenty of machines for newer people , orientation "quick fix" offered for members.Women's only area which is connected to the women change room ,so,for those that dont feel comfortable around guys or large groups of people you dont have to worry about that. Only criticism on machines are leg presses are not the best , in my opinion , could use additional squat racks , currently only have 3 free weight racks with 3 smith machines in addition. The multipurpose / machine station does have problems with clips sometimes , people take them...who does that . Trainers are experienced many of them have kin degrees with years of experience in building muscle , breaking a sweat ,mobility and power .Some of the trainers , they often train with a provincial power lifting record holder and some take part power lifting meets and MMA. So, for those wanting a workout specific for those styles of exercise you can get that here. Before heading into the mens change room there are three massage chairs with a big split screen tv if you need to sit down for a bit or wait for someone. The gym does have small/medium sized pool , large group exercise room with at least 10 different group exercise classes all which can be modified to your fitness level , leaders will get you amped up , ive done 6 classes 4 different instructors. Also has cycling class/studio ..not the biggest but gets the job done and of course a great workout ! As for the free teens membership , its needed , be honest alot of kids need to get off there butts and exercise, as for the inconvenience of them , they are not allowed in the gym during the busiest hours for you busy people and the only other issue I guess is there bad form but everyone tried to curl to much weight and ended up doing a stupid dance move to get it up , if it bothers you , take 3 mins to correct them , its not that hard.Change room could use some extra benches but again most of the time I have bench to myself or have half of one with plenty of room to sit , showers always clean , nice wooden sauna electric though so dont expect steam... you dont really need it. Parking lot is shared with the mall but the multi leveled /shelter parking lot comes in handy with shitty rain or snow , with an entrance leading directly to the mall where you can get shopping done or pick a nice cooked quarter chicken for those days you need something already made so you can avoid driving to another plaza burning expensive ass gas. Overall as member for 4 years there is nothing so horrible / bad about this gym that would make you want to leave , majority of bad experiences ive heard from other people or seeing myself at the front desk are just people getting upset because they misunderstood the promotion or didn't listen to the sales rep when signing up for a membership.

Can anyone support that review about flies in the change room because garbage isn't change often enough? I am a gym member I find that complaint unfounded and malicious, the cleaner there does his job and it's not fair to him.

13 reasons to not join this Gym, the Walmart of Gyms that I now will leave after 3 years, Management let it go to garbage. 1. Flies in change rooms cause garbages aren't changed enough 2. Out of service toilet for months now. 3. The gym reeks of Brampton's B.O and AXE Body Spray. 4. Never paper in the dispensers. Ever. 5. Overcrowded with unhygienic people who have zero gym etiquette. 6. Hope you like tripping over peoples gym bags. 7. If you didn't trip on their gym bag, you'll trip on the weights they left out behind you. 8. Leaking ceiling, no problem, just take out the tiles...forever. 9. Is that water fountain suppose to sound like a lawnmower? - Why do I still go here...damn good location, I deserve better. 10. People working out in jeans and work boots. 11. People working out while drinking coffee or some kind McDonalds drink..."Get your wet cups off the bench!". 12. Demotivating, it's hard to stay focused in the scent of Axe and A*s while "FREE for TEENS" summer is allowing kids to play gym. 13. Change Rooms barely are cleaned out, left over cloths for weeks, alcohol bottles(YUP!), garbage... Overall gross and not like it use to be. Management needs to be replaced.
