Good gym, rather empty when I worked out after 8pm. The set up: Main floor: Several treadmills with TVs, two mountain climbing machines, two ellipticals with TVs. Bench press rack and flat bench +mens oly barbell, incline benchpress rack and incline bench +mens oly barbell, lat pull down machine, smith machine, curl rack, cable crossover machine, sit up bench, cable station with fixed and adjustable pulleys for stuff like woodchoppers and tricep extensions. Leg extension and leg flexion machines. Seated cable machines for seated rows, flyes. Music is played, volume depending on staff's mood, and in hot weather they bring out a large fan for circulation (YES!). At the desk they sell smoothies and coffee but I never tried this out. You can borrow towels here too. There's not much free floor space except for walk ways and an area near the staircase which is used for stretching. The stretching area has floor mats, aerobic steps, swiss balls, a bosu ball and a foam roller. The small amount of free floor space can be an issue as personal trainers can take up a lot of room with clients, especially if doing things like walking lunges. Weight room: Leg press, roman chair/hyperextension bench, pullup & dip station, climbing wall-style pullup fixtures above door ways, dumbbell set going from 1-10kg, dumbell set going from 10-32(might be 34?)kg. One 20kg core bag. Two benches which can be flat or incline. There is one mens oly bar, a smaller bar (not a womens oly), EZ curl bar and a broom handle for shoulder dislocations. Often the bros who skip leg day leave the bars on the floor with weight plates still on. I think staff tidy away loose plates but they don't bother stripping the bars. A mirror goes down one of the longer walls if you want to check your form. There's not much floor space for complex lifts if the benches are in use, you either need to block access to a doorway or take the barbell onto the main floor where there's more room. The weights area can get very crowded at peak times but is virtually empty at off-peak. People drop weights when deadlifting without being told off by staff, so that's good, but there are no proper padded floor areas for heavy lifting. No squat rack or power cage anywhere in this gym. The weight plates are covered in rubber and vary in diameter (no bumper plates). The plates go from 1.25kg to 20kg. Class/climbing room: Small climbing wall, polished wooden floor and a mirror on one wall. All the classes (spinning, combat stuff, yoga) take place in there. Changing rooms (ladies): Really nicely decorated. Plenty of lockers, benches, mirrors and hairdryers, 2 toilets and 3 showers. When a class finishes it gets pretty full, so avoid finishing at the same time as a class or you'll be really cramped. --- As someone who focuses on strength training this gym was pretty good for what it did provide. All of the equipment, including the free weights and benches, are new and good quality and you rarely need to wait for equipment if you come at off-peak times (opening time, during work hours or after 8pm). The lack of a proper squat rack or powercage is a major downside and prevents this gym being a good place for serious strength training. There are personal trainers you can hire and there's always a couple of them in the gym to help you out, alongside some gym staff who work mainly at the welcome desk. The PTs are generally nice and sometimes goof around doing bodyweight challenges against each other. However a few times I have spotted some PTs acting like prats e.g. audibly gossiping from afar about people's form, spotting a guy who was doing heavy back-squats in the smith machine (Was SMH-ing so hard about this I was like the girl in the Exorcist). Overall I recommend it as a gym for weight loss and training for hypertrophy/aesthetics but if you train for strength this gym is a bit limited, but it certainly the best option near Finchley Central.

I have been a member for almost a year now. The personal trainers are absolutely fantastic. The gym has everything you need for your training. They also deliver superb fitness classes! No one compares to them ... highly recommended !

Been a member for 2 months now and it's one of the best gyms I've used. Machines are modern, staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great.
