The owner of this place is a self absorbed human being. Human Being is the only kind term I can use for this man, Rich Drazin. He treats his employees like they are beneath him, He treats his customers even worse. There are no towels to use, nor no clean machines. Try the stepper and look down. The same sweat drips are still there. There is no explanation for the lack of professionalism and lack of good ethical caring that a gym should show for its members. People come and go so much and keep getting charged on their account even when they have left. You are not paying for membership. You are paying for Rich Drazins' lifestyle. Stay away, is this former members advice.
BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! I hate, no, I LOATHE this company. First of all, the gym is always way too hot because they are too cheap to keep it cool; the equipment is old and often "out of order". When I signed up with the gym, one of the benefits they touted was "free clean towels" but of course after I signed up, that went away. Now, if that was all there was to say, I'd probably give these guys a 3 star rating, but it's not, that's just the beginning. After my first (contracted) year or so, I noticed on my credit card statement that the fees had gone up $10 or so a month (on a $50 per month payment). I called them up to ask what the deal was and they said "err, yes, we raised your monthly charges" without telling me, they just hit my credit card!, so I went in to the gym and filled out a cancelation form. 2 months later they were STILL hitting my credit card so I went back in and apparently they "lost" my form so I filled out another one and they said they would take care of it. I also canceled my credit card at this point so they couldn't keep hitting it. Jump forward another 2 months and I start getting threatening phone calls from their billing company saying I owed for ANOTHER 2 months after the 2nd cancelation!! I fought with them for about 6 months and today I just got a collection letter through the mail. I'm done so I'm paying it and to hell with them. You decide if you want to deal with a company like this. I suggest thinking very carefully about giving them your credit card number if you do decide to use them though. There are better places in town the YMCA is half the price and much nicer.
gym has good equipment. the problem with this place is the owner, rich. Read the reviews people and you will see the overall message. He has no problem throwing temper tantrums at the drop of a dime and yelling at patrons, employees, family, pets or anything near him....overall the environment in the club is tense and not the kind of place you want to train on a consistent basis. Owner is so cheap and it is reflected in every decision. It's all about rich....just ask him.
The classes they have are great, and the instructors are all very unique in their styles. That's what I love about them; you can decide what instruction technique you work best with and follow that instructor with their different classes. I switched it up a bit; One day rock hard abs, next day yoga. Great way to end the day! It's easy techniques to take home when you don't have enough time to make it to the gym. Membership is a little on the expensive side- but worth it.
I got the 30 day free flyer with Free enrollment and decided to check it out. THe gym is big, lots of stuff, everyone seems cool. I joined up because the deal was too good to pass up and they even gave me 3 personal training sessions for free. I don't know the first thing about working out but with the training and the member's input every now and then...I'm thinking I'll do well.
