Do not go to Frog Fitness or Club One (owns Frogs). Member of Club One-Frogs Encinitas, CA. While in gym, fell because the equipment I was on malfunctioned ( a peddle lost traction). This was on a Starimaster machine on 1/16/13. Pedal slipped and I fell, hitting my right hand and it broke. I was casted on 1/23/2013 until 3/1/13. I paid $1550.62 to get my hand fixed, missed work from 1/23 to 3/1/13 and my baby finger on the right hand still is sore. The machine tech witnessed it, I filled out an incident report with the front desk and was told that in the contract that I has signed they were not responsible. The fine print states that even if you die at the gym they are not responsible. This was clearly a machine malfunction which the tech acknowledged verbally to me. They referred me to their insurance company, I hired a lawyer, the lawyer did nothing so now I am on my own trying to get restitution. Don't go to this gym, they do not care.

This gym is super old and very expensive. The staff is not very helpful when is come to canceling your account. I would not go to this gym VERY BAD

The Encinitas branch has really badly maintained and old spin bikes. A couple don't even have water holders. The group x classes are good. Having been a member and used the Solana Beach one for years, I moved and tried the Encinitas one. I have read a lot of online complaints about having to cancel in person at Purefitness. Frogs is just as bad. Why do I have to go in to cancel the membership? I called many times, I had an injury so driving was not easy, needless to say, I am still being charged. I have called several times in the past week again, but just get put on hold or passed around! Be very wary of what you sign when you join. I cancelled membership of 2 other health clubs via e-mail. Simple and easy. No reason frogs can't offer the same. They just want to keep charging you and make it hard for you to leave!!

Joined about 2 weeks ago and I still get greeted by my first name as I walk in. Clean, never packed, the child care is superb and this place is great all round value. I just hope it stays this good!
