Hotel Rodney

Who cares if it was a little small. The interior designer did a fantastic job. Nice quaint hotel with the transition from previous to new. Nice bed, linens, soaps, etc. When we checked in the staff was helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Really cool elevator and it was tough for this 55 year old man to stop playing with the elevator.
We came to Lewes for a weekend getaway and enjoyed the proximity of Hotel Rodney to all the great restaurants and shops. We were surprised by how cramped our room was. There was barely any room to walk on either side of our bed. The walls between rooms were very thin, and talking from the room right beside us was clearly heard as we were attempting to fall asleep. We were also right beside a stairwell, and the old floors were very loud. Overall we liked the ambiance, cleanliness and decor, but the cramped noisy quarters left quite a bit to be desired.
Spent Valentine's Day at the hotel. Loved the location, decor, and cleaniness. The only problem with the hotel was they have the restaurant located on the ground floor and there was a ventilation problem. We checked in and had a room right above the restaurant and the smell of cooking and cooking grease filled the room and hallway. The hotel staff accomodated our request to move to another room. It wasn't the same room but a downgrade but nice nonetheless. The staff recognized the issue with ventilation and discounted the price of our room for the downgrade plus some, upon check out. Love the location, the decor and close proximity to great dining.
