Gold's Gym

They give you one lesson then you're left on your own. Also I developed a medical problem, that could cause me to bleed out, an esophageal varix that I'm waiting to have fixed and the club gave me a two month freeze and I told them I'd call them when I was able to return. They took $72.00 out of my account without my permission, saying I should have called them, when I had showed them my medical report and told them I would let them know when I would return. They won't put the money back. I was told by more than one person to never sign a yearly contract with this club, because you practically have to die to get out of a contract. Maybe I should go and exercise and then bleed out all over their floor. Then maybe I could get out of the contract, maybe.
As a 5 year + member I have witnessed everything imaginable in the world of shrewd business. The gym itself was an excellent place to work out due to the regulars who frequented it. With the current management that runs the gym it has turned into a disaster. If you spend time at the gym to work out and use your membership, i can assure you that the employees will be talking bad about you behind your back. If you are caught even helping someone during their workout, it is seen as "training" them for money. Consequently, you will be banned because the personal training staff is insecure in their sales. I have seen people who never accepted a dollar for personal training be kicked out of the gym and all of it was premeditated. What makes a gym top notch is the people in it, because at the end of the day it is just a building with iron in it. The current management has created an unhealthy vibe in the gym and has banned/pushed away the people that bring life into this establishment. Big gym in a small town, the more money you spend the less trash they will spread about you. Tread carefully.
I am 31 years old and live in Orlando Florida. I visit a good friend here in Mt Dora every week and needed to find a quality gym in the area. I have been working out since I was 13 years old and I like to think i i am very serious about working out staying fit and healthy. When I first walked in I immediately was impressed. As I did the walk through I became overwhelmed with how impressed I was with all of the space, options, cleanliness, and equipment. The only other gym that compares is the Dr Philips Golds gym in Orlando which is owned by the same owner. I am currently an L.A. fitness member but I loved the gym so much I decided to join anyway. Besides there aren't any L.A. fitness's in the immediate area. And if there was it wouldn't compare anyway. My favorite thing about the gym is the Cardio Movie Theatre its so unique and such a great ingenious Idea that motivates me to do my dreaded cardio routines. Real person REAL review and now a proud member... Jay C.
A parent's dream gym! Top flight gym, huge with every type of new and old style equipment, but the real difference maker is the separate supervised kiddie gym area. Our daughter loves it and we're able to get in a full uninterrupted work out! They watch the kids closely and give a brief report on how she behaved with the others. All very caring, Lindsey and Nicole stand out as exceptional. Highly recommended!
A year ago I joined Gold's Gym and became associated with personal trainer John Hockley. I have been working with John three times a week. He is very professional , dedicated, conscientious, courteous, patient and encouraging. I am slowly but surely making progress. I am very pleased by the whole experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. The facilities are kept clean and in good condition. its a nice place to work out!!
