Hello I'll start with my background. I've been a member of anytime fitness for over two years. I've started with the one in Gulf Breeze. As I moved to Pensacola I ended up in the middle of both the anytime located on 9th Ave as well as the one on 9 mile. I'm constantly traveling to all three of these gyms. The Gulf Breeze one when I visit my family. The one on 9th Ave before and after work. And the one on 9 mile generally after school. I love anytime simply for it's convenience and accessibility. I've never had a problem with any of these facilities until recently. My contract ran out and I renewed with the gym on 9th Ave after work simply because it was convenient for me. After the standard 30 days I went back to working out at all the gyms and had no problems until I went back to the one on 9 mile. Soon after I found out my key wouldn't work at any of the gyms EXCEPT the one I signed up with. Confused I walked into the 9 mile gym and asked why my key wasn't working. The manager Grady Clark shoved a contract in my face and stated I had been "price shopping" and wasn't allowed to use the gym anymore. Apparently he was upset because I signed up at 9th Ave and continued to pay the price of $29.99 that I've been paying for the past 2 years instead of going to him and being charged $44 a month. It's clear that the only thing this manager cares about is money. Now I've always followed Anytime's policies and procedures and Instead of arguing and making a scene I walked out. So can someone please explain to me why I no longer have access to all the gyms after being a loyal customer for over two years and signing up at a gym that was simple convenient at the time? Conclusion: If the gym on 9 mile is convenient to you and fitness is important sign up at the Anytime on 9th. The manager Sam Mcleod is awesome, explains everything really well and you pay only $29.99. After a month you can use 9 mile no problem and don't pay $44 a month. Do the math you save money, and you don't have to deal with the exceptionally rude and greedy manager on 9 mile.
