Life Time Fitness
Reviews
Definitely the best gym I've been to in years. I'm currently using a trial, but I'm pretty confident that I'll join. The food in the cafe is delicious. The equipment is great for every desired workout. The yoga and pilates classes are great and informative. I've also tried the Zumba class, which was a lot of fun. The staff is pleasant. 10s across the board.
I have been a member for three years. This place is not perfect, but it is very good. There are a lot of group fitness classes, the facility is very clean, especially considering the number of people who use it. There is plenty of equipment, even at peak times. The childcare area is fantastic, with a lot of options for the kids. I would prefer it to be better supervised - maybe one more person would help, but my child absolutely loves it. The cafe is affordable and has plenty of items. The spa is very nice as well. I have had to take a few extra steps to get a complimentary towel when the gym is very busy, but there are always clean towels. If you can't be happy here, you are not going to be happy anywhere. *2014 Update - I agree with a lot the reviewers. Lately, service here is awful. Summer Camp was so bad we had to find a new camp this year. It does seem like the regime has changed for the worse. Member Services is awful - unreturned calls, real lack of professionalism and they make it clear they could care less about members.
This place is full of terrible experiences to me. First of all, the employees are terribly rude and unprofessional. It looks like Lifetime Fitness has some employee training program how to make their customers annoyed. They have united to be rude and are not willing to listen to their customers. Their swimming lesson program is also full of problems. Instructors are not professional and even they looks they are not willing to go into the pool but just hanging out out of the pool during the lesson and just let children swim without any productive instructions. At least to me, Lifetime Fitness is just eager to looking for a way to rip off from me. I ended up with giving them certain amount of money away cancelling the membership after being got around.
Oh the trainers, the pushy pushy, money grubbing cut throat insulting rude ass trainers! Then there is the management who will NEVER EVER call you back when you have a problem. They're also never around when you need them. I even called corporate THREE TIMES! They simply do not care about you. Like someone said, all they see is dollar signs. And they are always trying to sell you something. It is QUITE annoying to be honest. As for the equipment, well with all clubs, as they age, that becomes an issue. But for the $$ you pay they really ought to be rotating new equipment in that place a lot more often. Also, the club could really use a face lift in terms of the overall general facilities. The pools and spas are getting old. And on another note, not that the club can help this, but the clientelle just isn't what it used to be. People just are not very friendly. It is so sad to see that club just slide downhill. It used to be so nice and posh. They charge too much damn money for such a mediocre experience and to be treated so rudely by the trainers how hound you CONSTANTLY!
Since I find a job in another city, so I canceled my lifetime fitness in January But my GF is still a member for this gym. So the disappointing experience happened on us recently. Because my starting working date postpones to next month, so I try to accompany my GF to exercise by taking advantage of her guest policy. As they told us previously, a member can bring a guest for free 4 times per year. But recently when we tried to come, the salesperson told me that he couldn't let me enter unless I am charged. The reason is because I canceled my membership policy in this January. Still in 60 days period until the day I tried to re-enter, which negatively surprised me. After I told him that last time I came as a paid membership rather than guest, he said it made no difference. It seems the only reason I couldn't enjoy this guest benefit is because I was a previous member and paid regular monthly fees to them, let's see if my GF invite another friend who never paid money to them, he can be qualified for the guest policy. Very confusing and frustrated policy, isn’t it. Later the manager came and repeated this policy again. He told me that since I had been familiar with the experience as an old customer so he didn't think I should come as a guest, so eventually I discovered the real reason I was rejected s because of my honesty and they knew I left for some hard reasons so I could not return in a short period. And if my GF bring a new guy, they can get the salesperson around him and try to sell something to him. I clearly said to the manager that I believed that the guest policy should be perceived as an additional benefit for the loyal customers rather than just taking advantage of the customer's friendship so they could acquiring new customers. Regretfully, the management don’t want to put themselves to the customer’s shoes. All the customers want is really respect and sincere caring, that is real reason why previously we choose to pay nearly $100 per month to this gym rather than other gyms for a $30 rate. In addition, anyone who comes to this guy would notice that their cancelling policy, which will be effective the following month rather than the current month. If you cancel your member on December, they will still charge your until January. Salespeople try to push to sign the contract rather than clearly tell you this misleading information. They will tell you orally you can cancel anytime, which actually they mean you can cancel anytime but they will still charge you.So read carefully for your contract.
