Great value, until you count in the fees which is $30 at sign up which they never mention in their ads or the 1 month in advance cancellation (an extra $10 which they never mentioned when I signed up). They they decided to fraudulently charge me $30 this month even though I officially cancelled back in November (I payed any dues required when I cancelled).

I go to the early RPM or spin class and Greg is an amazing instructor. I've also been to the Pilates/Yoga combo class and the instructor there was incredible as well. I love the encouragement they provided and Greg is hilarious with his comments in the morning. I enjoy my workouts with Gold's and plan on continuing to go. The locker rooms are in good to great condition however I miss having a locker to put all my things in. On the plus side maybe I should be carrying a little extra here and there. The 99.9% of the equipment I've been on works properly. My favorite is that you can bring a guest to workout with you.

BEWARE!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!! This is the biggest rip off in Bismarck. So advertisements all over town say $9.95 a month..no contracts. Then tell me why I had to pay 30 bucks to sign up, $9.95 a month for 3 months and then $48.95 for the 4th month. I got pretty upset about this and went down to cancel my membership and they charged me another $9.95 for canceling. Lets add that up shall we? In about 4 months of membership I paid almost $110. I signed my daughter up too so this was times two. Golds gym should be ashamed of themselves for misleading people like this. These turds need to be shut down. LOSERS!

Note: this review is strictly related to the cost of the gym and about the free weights. I am only in Bismarck for 3 short months and I was very attracted to the whole "only pay month-to-month no contract" deal. I went into the gym to sign up and was told it can only be done online. On the website they advertise a $10 a month deal where you can end anytime and you only have to pay a $29 start up fee. I figured $20 a month for 3 months isn't that big of an expenditure for access to a gym. As I was filling out the online forms for membership I saw that there is an additional $39 yearly "Rate Guarantee Fee". Its purpose is to ensure that your monthly rates will never change while you are a member - or in other words we came up with a bs reason to charge you more money! It's not like Gold's Gym would ever raise their prices anyways... it would turn away many potential customers. If your doing your math thats $100 for 3 months of membership! How ridiculous is that!? I can order a barbell set WITH 100 lbs online and even get it SHIPPED to me for less than $100! I am disappointed in how they attempt to do the whole "no catch" thing, except they actaully have a huge catch. I rated this good and not poor because of the unusual circumstances I am in by only being here for 3 months. If you are here permanently then the costs pan out quite well throughout the year.

I am a new member at Gold's Gym in Bismarck. I am also relatively new to Bismarck, as well. I was a Y member for about a year before joining Gold's. I had, of course, heard of Gold's before, but never really thought it would be the place for me. In the past, I've always stuck with my local YMCA/YWCA or a smaller, privately owned gym (in other towns I've lived in). I was pleasantly surprised! The staff is VERY warm and friendly and always make me feel welcome. There is always parking (even at 5:30pm on a weekday!) and a short walk to the door. When I'm bringing my two small kids with me, that's HUGE! The environment inside is clean and everything is layed out conveniently for use. Despite the small floor plan, it never seems crowded. There is always some high-energy music playing, which is nice if you forget your headphones! It also gives the club a nice, fun vibe. The locker room is very nicely appointed, carpeted with a little seating area to relax with a magazine or watch TV while you get changed. There is also a nice vanity area with hair dryers and other after-shower essentials. Oh, and PRIVATE SHOWERS! Yay! At the Y, you have to pay extra to access a locker room with those things. I have taken a couple different classes, and was very satisfied. The classes were pretty full, but I could still get a spot with plenty of space in which to move. The instructors are very friendly and knowledgeable. Both times (different classes/instructor) the instructor noticed I was new to the class, and took time after class to introduce themselves and ask if I had any questions. Wow! Overall, I am very impressed with this gym. I think you really get a lot for your money. It is the best gym experience I've had in a long time, possibly ever.
