24 Hour Fitness
Reviews
I joined this gym prior to the opening day. They don't know how to adjust the jets in the hot tub. Instead, it's like a boiling cauldron of dirty foam. I left my locker open for approximately 30 seconds and of course I was robbed a couple years ago. The staff had nothing to say about it. I won't go here again.
For the first time I am staying with an exercise program. It's because 24 Hour Fitness on Cass is so wonderful. When I'm driving over for my swim, I imagine that I have won a free vacation in the Caribbean.
Congratulations on the pr shitstorm you have earned yourselves, you seedy sexual-assault apologist fuckbags. If there is one shred of testicular material discernible among the lot of you, you will FIRE the man who sexually assaulted Megan in your Cass Street, Omaha location, you will APOLOGIZE for sweeping this matter under the rug and for ignoring what is a VERY serious and detrimental offense, you will APOLOGIZE for "mysteriously" cutting off Megan's membership after she came to you for help and justice, and you will REINSTATE her membership. You make us all sick and until such time as you have declared a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for sexual assault in your facilities and have righted the wrongs that your company has perpetrated against Megan, and TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY for the emotional damage which you CANNOT even HOPE to rectify, we will continue to spread word that your company is an unconscionable filth not to be trifled with by anyone in any state.
This was definitely the nicest 24 hour fitness in Omaha, if for no other reason than it's the newest. I was paying about $12.50/month after buying a 3-year membership from Costco. So it was well maintained and cheap...why did I stop going? #1 - It's too busy. Unless you work out after 9PM or before 5AM, then be prepared to wait, especially if you want to use one of the two squat cages or the few benches that are available. If you're sticking to machines or cardio machines, then you might be OK. This place is a nightmare in January and February...running out of lockers isn't uncommon and finding a parking spot can be an adventure. They obviously try to cram as many cattle into this place as possible. #2 - Lack of free weight benches/cages. It's no worse than most gyms, but see point #1. If you go during a prime time, it's hard to find a free bench or cage. What's worse is that most of the free-standing benches are bolted to the ground...wtf? Are you really worried about your customers hauling a bench down a flight of stairs and carrying it by your front desk with nobody noticing? All of the 24 hour fitness centers do this, and I've never seen it at any other gym. If you're looking for a cheap gym and you don't mind crowds, then it's not a bad value. For me, it's worth paying another $20-$30/month to not fight the crowds.
My friend Megan was sexually assaulted at a 24 Hour Fitness by a staff member and on camera. Instead of firing the staff member, corporate intimidated her into not pursuing legal action and terminated her fully paid membership without her consent. This staff member still works at the 24 Hour Fitness located on Cass Street of Omaha, Nebraska. What Megan wants is for this employee to be fired as a result of his behavior, for her paid membership to be reinstated, and for sexual harassment policies to be posted publicly in 24 Hour Fitness locations. By choosing not to punish this employee for his behavior, they are enabling him and providing him opportunities to do the same to another woman again. By choosing not to punish this employee, 24 Hour Fitness is expressing that they have no regard for the safety and well being of their patrons.
