OTOM Gym
Reviews
Excellent gym in all respects except for the bathrooms and lockers, which are nevertheless adequate. There are tons of free weights, all manner of barbells, and the "machines" are mostly Hammer Strength frames, which are better than Nautilus pin machines. It's friendly enough and a good place for serious strength training. The downstairs has a large empty area, padded, where you can box or do martial arts, and it has two heavy bags. Never crowded, it could use an inexpensive makeover aesthetically - and better marketing. You find skinny, out-of-shape hipsters working out next to seriously strong Polish guys without that overly aggressive male attitude you get at some of the more working class gyms. A good place, excellent hours - it should be more popular. Unfortunately very few women.
This gym is one of the better fitness facilities i have been part of. It is very "bodybuilding friendly". The best thing about this gym is it is always clean and weight as always reracked. It could use some more equipment and a updated bathroom, but besides that it is great!
For just $40 a month, I can use the facilities and equipment at this great unassuming gym that my personal trainer works out of. It's really spacious and not often crowded, and the machines are kept in good working order at all times.
Good place for strength training. A little run down, but considering the price, you are getting a great deal for NYC.
Could be worse.
