I received a promotion card in the mail so I went for the 1 day trial. The people there couldn't help with the questions I had about the membership. This place has really nice equipment, just terrible service. The service at the corporate level at Planet Fitness is not any better. I emailed them trying to see about the fees and they replied with, 'you will need to contact this store.' This store has not responded. So, I called and asked for a manager. She was unable to help. I also found out there are a lot of other fees for things. The 10$ per month promotion they run is a scam, it just looks good at first. There are many other gyms in the area!!
Have had nothing but good experiences here. Always greeted, the staff is alwasy cleaning or helping...Great price...and it's not so much you get what you pay for in a gym....it's; you get out of it what you put into it.
Staff is great. My girlfriend and I appreciate the tanning package along with the clean gym facility. The tanning is the easiest of the PF's in Cleveland area in that when someone is done using the room the immediately clean it and get the next person in. We have found that the other PF's make you wait until the next scheduled appt which are 20 min apart even though the person may have only tanned for 5 minutes. This is mainly an issue when everyone gets off of work and at Rocky River they are considerate of those people that don't want to spend 2 hours in the gym after work. After work in Rocky River we are usually able to get in the tanning beds within an hour of arriving which is perfect amount of time for us to get a workout before.
I received TERRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE and was CHARGED EXTRA. I had a 12 month membership and I called to inquire how to end my membership since my new apt. complex had a gym. I was informed that it would automatically end unless I renewed it. I specifically asked if I needed to end it in writing and I was informed, no it would end on its own. However I was billed on the day after my membership ended. I called Planet Fitness, and was told that I needed to talk to a manager and they would arrive in an hour and I left a message. Six hours passed and I never received a call back. Thus I called again and was informed that the manager had just left. I left another message and was told I would receive a call on Monday. The manager, Alex, did call me on Monday. I inquired as to why I was billed for a month after my membership had ended. She informed me that I did have to cancel in writing. I told her that I was incorrectly informed about the cancelation policy. She said that it did not matter, that unless I had cancelled by the 11th of the month I would automatically be charged for another month past my 12 month membership. She said that there was nothing I could do about being charged for another month since I would not have been able to cancel on the 11th of the month because of the billing process. She never apologized for the fact that I was incorrectly informed and never made an attempt to right the wrong that had happened. I am extremely unhappy with how I was treated. I contacted the corporate office and I never received a response. I dropped off a letter in writing to end my membership so that I was not charged another month past my 12 year membership and I was again told that I did not have to drop off a letter in writing. DO NOT JOIN PLANET FITNESS they do not know how to treat their costumers with respect.
For $10 a month you get what you pay for. It would be nice if they had some free weights.
