Oz offers a variety of work-out equipment, and that was not certainly the reason for my poor review. However, there were two serious issues with this gym compared to a few other Gyms (in Portland) that I've been too. First and foremost is the quality of service. They treat their members poorly. I was moving to a different city so I needed to cancel my membership. I cancelled on May 24th hoping to not be charged for any other months. Now, they charged me for June because I paid for the last month when I first signed up. So I understand that, but on top of that they charged me for July as well! When I went in on May 24th to cancel my membership, I was told that I would only be charged through June (Which again was fine). Now they are charging me an extra month and I emailed the owner and she still won't give me a refund for the month of July. This a money hungry organization that could care less about their members. There shouldn't be complications like this for a GYM membership, but they do their best to squeeze every little bit out of you. I'm happy to be cancelling my membership here. Pick superior if you have the choice.
To the idiot who left the review that said "The gym os a place to work out not baby around..." I got one question for you... Do you even lift? Didn't think so. If you're going to Oz then the answer is you don't. Seriously this place is a brofest of idiots circle jerking each other off on the machines instead of actually working out. If you want to be in a gym full of clowns then you'll love Oz. If you actually want to get strong and make gains then go somewhere else.
This place is awesome, my girlfriend and I just joined and love it. They have everything you need. The bad reviews given to this gym were all subjective and really not that true. One bad review was about how she needed help but no one would help. Well, if you go into a gym and decline a personal trainer but then have no idea how to use any machines and are constantly asking people for help, then maybe you do need a personal trainer. The bathrooms are clean, the basketball court is consistently cleaned and dusted daily, as well as all the machines and cardio equipment. I go every single day and literally witness them all being cleaned so that bad review is also not true. Bottom line: THIS PLACE IS AWESOME, and affordable at around $30 a month. Give it a shot, the staff is all cool and friendly too.
I joined two years ago. At the time I declined a personal trainer. Whenever I asked for help with how to work different equipment, no one was available to help me. Also, they never showed me how to work any of the equipment. With Oz, if you decline the extra expense of a personal trainer you're totally ignored. I went in to change my single membership to a family membership and they told me I owed additional monies from two years ago which I was never notified of or told about. When I tried to question this, Ron Hanson, the so-called GM, became very nasty and started yelling at me that they didn't have to prove anything to me and he wouldn't cancel my single membership until I paid up. I decided I would pay the extra money just to get out of there. I'd never been able to use anything but the treadmill anyway since no one would show me how to work any of the other equipment. The following week I went in with my daughter and I wrote out the check, told the person at the desk to cancel. Ron Hanson came over and my daughter told him everything was handled, we didn't need to talk to him. He then flipped my daughter off. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I will make sure to let everyone I know the kind of treatment that people are given here.
Great Facility, Lots of Equipment. Not many Dumb bells but its not always Super Busy. Staff is there to Help. Great Service. Layout is designed well.
