The club is great! It is never too busy, always a good temperature, always clean. The personal trainers are friendly and always talking to people and offering advice. The manager is extremely welcoming and probably 90% of why I signed up the first day I went in. I love the no locker rooms aspect and the Espresso bikes are a lot of fun!
I've been a member at AF for about one year and I have to say the staff is fantastic! Always friendly and helpful. The place is very clean, too. I started working with a trainer in November, and he is great - makes me work hard and is very encouraging. The manager of the trainers, Jason, is awesome! He is always smiling, always takes time to talk to me, asking how I feel and how I'm doing. He noticed that I had trimmed down a bit and commented on it. Very encouraging and helpful. Regarding the $52 price an earlier reviewer mentioned (same person - note the incorrect grammar & spelling similarities between the two reviews), I don't know what that is. I find AF very affordable, and the convenience of going there whenever I want to work out is great! I used to be a member of Luxe in Westerly but was frustrated by their hours, especially closing early on Saturdays & Sundays. I've gone to AF on holidays and later at night - there are times when I've been there alone. BTW, there are personal alarms you can wear on a lanyard when you are there if you're concerned about safety when no staff is in the building. Oh yeah, they have two tanning rooms as well, which can be included in your membership package.
I just joined Anytime Fitness and I'm loving it. the Staff is very friends, helpful, and most importantly approachable. The equipment is taken care of and the building is as immaculate as any gym could ever be.
Best gym I've been to so far. I don't know what Randy and Bob are talking about (I agree, probably the same person). I pay 38 per month, yes, I had to commit to a 2 years but I am in a great career and not going anywhere. Also, if you do move, you can just transfer to another ATF. And if there is no ATF reasonably close to you, you can cancel the membership with no penalties. One of the managers, Jarrid, is awesome! My very first time in there, we had a 45 minute conversation as if we'd be friends since grade school. All of their staff says hi when you walk in and will always strike up a conversation. I don't feel pressured to "look pretty" when I work out like with some other gyms in the area. I feel very at home there. There is no water bubbler, which sucks if you forget a water bottle, but you can just fill up your bottle at the sinks. There's also vending machines for water and energy drinks. There are TWO showers, not one. Tanning, if you like that. 24 hour classes, you can do with friends or by yourself, or even join in with the people already doing it. Lots of cardio options, and every year they add a machine that is chosen by the members. Like everyone else said, very clean. Like OCD about cleaning. I work the night shift, so I go to the gym from 8p-10p. Most gyms close by 9! Especially on the weekends. I think the YMCA would be more expensive if you are on a single plan. I don't know about Riverbend. And the closest Gold's is in East Greenwich. Because of my career field, I would get a discount at Luxe and pay 29/month. I don't care, I'm stayin with ATF!
I joined Anytime Fitness in Narragansett about 2 months ago. I have been a member of many health clubs. (some in NY and some in CA) This place, by far, is the cleanest facility I've ever been a member of. The staff ALWAYS says 'hi' to me when I walk in, and more importantly, the price is SOOOOO AFORDABLE! I checked around (Luxe Fitness, YMCA, Riverbend), and they are the lowest price by far!!
