Gold's Gym

Its been almost four weeks or so since I started at Gold’s Gym and I have been working with Justin Bowden about twice a week in individual sessions, and another 2-3 days each week on my own. Thus far I can report some very good progress ….specifically I feel much better and can see my overall strength and endurance / stamina significantly improve. The treadmill / elliptical machines have helped and those old school / updated and recently added Stairmaster machines really do a great job. ( although I REALLY / REALLY dislike them ….climb up 30 flights and you will agree ...but you can feel the difference ) Justin has done an excellent job at varying the workouts and changing up the routines …keeping me motivated and guessing at what is coming next. I am sleeping much better ( one of my top goals ) and have been getting all sorts of comments from my friends and family relative to looking better and weight loss. Summary - A good start …I have greatly reduced my alcohol intake along with a more sensible diet that has removed most bread / potatoes and rice products from the menu. An early mistake was thinking that I could simply eat a lot of protein like steak and lean meats …in excess …some type of modified Atkins or South Beach plan …that resulted in over-sized portions and lots of calories … that cost me big time.
I have been going to Whiterock Gold's Gym for several years now. My favorite part are my weight training sessions with Norb. He is the only trainer that I have stuck with for years and with whom I enjoy my work-outs. He has been extremely dedicated to help me reach my goals, is very knowledgeable and committed. The best! The staff is also very friendly and the pool is awesome. A water temperature that I can live with!
After recently moving to the Dallas area I have finally found my gym. I say finally because I tried a couple different ones before finally joining Gold's Gym. I feel at home here, comfortable to workout and focus on the task at hand. I was so uncomfortable before, I used to dread going to the other gym's because I felt that everyone was constantly sizing me up or judging my workout routine in a negative way. Gold's Gym is totally different. The moment I walk in I feel like I'm home. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Parking is good too. They have a phenomenal ladies room that has a sauna, steam room, and hot tub. The pool is very refreshing as well. I am so glad I finally joined! Come check it out, you won't be disappointed.
I love working out at golds for the simple fact I found a trainer that truly understands my goals. When I began working out at golds I noticed a trainer that did lots of circuit training with clients each time I was there . That is when I approached trainer Colin rose and stated I was interested . Colin said come Work out with me and see if it's a good fit then we can talk about training if you still like my style. I signed up the same day. Colin is very good about creating workouts for specific target areas. He mixes our sessions up each time keeping me motivated to get better . If you get a chance to workout with Colin you will get to experience what great training looks like!
I have been a long time member of Gold's Gym White Rock. I have seen many improvements made to the gym over the years. I have specifically been working with trainer Joshua Marcum for more than a year. He has helped me with my physical fitness level as well as helped me create an overall healthy and active lifestyle. I have lost 40 lbs in the past year because of utilizing this gym and Joshua's advice and instruction. It is a great place with great trainers.
