LA Fitness

As I have been a member for years, I don't know about the service. But it is clean (May be due to it is so new) doesn't smell like the other old LA Fitness. I use the private rooms with out any issues.
place is decent and all equipment is new but the service is absolutely terrible
Went and service was horrible. A met a woman named Kaitlan and she said it was great, since she knew someone there. I tried it out for a week and I will stay with Lifetime Fitness. Lifetime Fitness rocks compared to this gym. Also, found out another friend of mine was coaxed into signing a personal trainer contract here. He was not told at all how the contract works, and in the end had to freeze it and pay a substantial amount of money to get out of it. Make sure you read the contract, they will not tell you all of the details.
If you are a serious lifter, stay away! This gym is packed with loads of machines to work all your beach muscles and do cardio, but not much else. If you like to deadlift, snatch, clean & jerk or even like to use the seated cable-rows (not here). You could maybe do deadlifts, but beware, it is like working out in a small closet. I've had more elbow room sitting on a plane. If you like to squat they have (3) racks, but even more Smith Machine options if you like to do pretend squats. You have your standard pull-downs and fly machine to work some delts, but not much of anything else to get back done right. A huge dislike for me is that the clientele are inconsiderate and don't know how to pick up, or re-rack weights after they are finished. They like to stand around and walk away for long periods then return when someone else is attempting to do work..." I'm still working." Right.... The amenities are decent it is a somewhat clean gym, if you like lying around in months of old sweat this is the gym for you. All the work areas are laid with carpet. Yes, I said it, carpet. Nice way to build up bacteria and cause some infections in my eyes. So unless you like carpet burns with your burpees, I'd say, not for you. The staff are okay, but rarely greet you or ask if you need assistance. No big deal to me, though. If you are looking to purchase a protein shake, pre-workout or any other supplement or workout accessory they don't have it. And the kid's area is small with very little entertainment for children. All in all I wouldn't recommend this gym to 'true' gym goers. I've only used their 2 week free pass and I am very unimpressed. Not worth the initiation fee or the monthly price. This gym is definitely a just passing through kinda place.
I love the update to the old gym. The machine are updated and easy to use only negative the kids care is super small compare to other la fitness and they get even more kids here. Sometimes its so full I can't even check my kids in so we have to drive to Rowlett or Greenville! $
