I came to Fitness Connection from a gym that cost $35.00 per month and gave you a electronic entry card for security and 35great access. Most boring. I could have worked out at home and saved the bucks. No front desk (with little girls) to be snippy to me. No trainer to ask advice of. I am 75 years old and have been coming to Fitness Connection for three years. The little girls have been most respectful. They greet customers with a smile and respond as if they want to help. I have found the locker room needing attention but I know the high traffic makes it difficult. There is nightly cleaning crews and the day staff will respond to needs. The customers are for the most part friendly and willing to respond to friendly approaches. I have had high school age guys come up to me and tell me that I was a good role model for working out hard at my age and engage me in conversation. For the most part your workouts are what you make of them. I find the higher priced gyms have been no benefit to me. I found a home at Fitness Connection.
I just started at this location. The gym itself is okay...it's the staff. The front desk is usually ran with little girls that have no idea what customer service is. And they stare. I've not been stared at by highschool girls since well...highschool. It's really a strange experience. So unfortunate. They should have a member of management from the location on Westheimer to come retrain (or fire) the staff. The staff at that location is just as young but are much more mature and understand the basic concept of customer service.
This place is ridiculous. PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP HERE. One, the facility itself is disorganized, unkempt, and ran by children who have no people skills or know what customer service is. Secondly, they'll keep CHARGING YOU MONEY AND WITHDRAWING MONEY OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT MONTHS AFTER YOU CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP. They tell you there's a "30 days notice of cancellation" which means from the day you officially say your membership is cancelled, they are still able to withdraw ridiculous amount of unwarranted money from your account without your notice. Their corporate office is ran by high school Latina girls who have no common sense or an iota of wisdom in their heads. The location is questionable- which is how they lure you in with cheap prices. In the end, you're better working out somewhere else. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. DO NOT BECOME A MEMBER HERE. LOOK AT THE OTHER REVIEWS BELOW AND YOU'LL GET A GENERAL SENSE THAT SIGNING UP HERE WILL PROBABLY BE ONE OF THE WORSTVMISTAKES YOU'LL MAKE
The gym itself, I have no issues with. The staff is great and the facility is nice. Its the poor customer service I received when I called their cooperate line. I had been calling them repeatedly throughout the week to update my account information to avoid a late fee. I never got in touch with anyone until the first...how convenient. I know I could not do anything seeing as how they had already tried to draft the payment. I just wanted to update the info so I would not have to call back. Not only would the representative not make note of the new account information, i had to pull answers out of her, and she made a remark about a previous call I had made to update my account information when i was switching from my credit card to my bank account. This had nothing to do with why I was calling and I had clearly stated at the beginning of the phone call that my wallet had been stolen and i needed to update the information. She told me that I should have used an account and routing number that way I wouldn't have to call them. (This is what I was calling to do, why is she picking at me). At this point the tone I was getting implied that she was annoyed with me. I had not yet given her any attitude i even paused and took a deep breath to keep from going off on her. At that point I just wanted to speak to someone that did not have a attitude. When I asked to speak to someone over she lied and told me there was no one. When I called back today to make my payment (which was accompanied by an undeserved late fee, but I posed no complaint) I explained to the lady what happened and asked her I could speak to someone else regarding my previous phone call and she transferred me to line where i was only able to leave a message. So I did! A friend of mine has given me a number to call in case they don't call me back so that I am able to go over them. She just recently had the exact same problem with them and my husband had call a lot more than i did the previous week trying to update our information and they never answered his calls either. Sounds to me like they don't answer calls on purpose when its close to pay day. I got through today in 2 mins.
Decent with all the necessary equipment but it gets PACKED at prime time
