Gracie Barra Southlake Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Reviews
Let me start by saying the gym was great and Alejandro is a fantastic instructor. However, if you want to leave the gym because your son wants to try other sports, the corporate office outside of Texas has to approve it and they will continue to charge you. My son broke his collar bone in an unrelated incident so we froze the account. They still charged us an extra month since we didn't freeze it in time. We then told Alejandro we were canceling and contacted corporate. 7 months later they still want written documentation even though we emailed corporate and the gym to state we were canceling. I will never take my kids to another Gracie Barra gym because of how we are treated by corporate.
I had been training BJJ for about 2 years when I showed up at Gracie Barra Southlake TX. I came from Alabama where I had won the state tournament 3 times in a row as a blue belt so I thought I was at least decent. Professor Alejandro is an incredible Jiu Jitsu fighter and welcomed me into the school with open arms even though I had never trained at a Gracie Barra. After rolling with Alejandro just once I could tell I had a lot to learn. I trained with him for several months and attend class whenever I can now. Very friendly environment with no ego!
I moved to the Keller area several months ago, and lost a great jiu jitsu team. I came to Gracie Barra Southlake to continue my training and was greeted with open arms by everyone in the school. The training and instruction is World Class hands down, Professor Alejandro Siqueira is a superb instructor and very patient and very technical. He is a true Gracie Barra black belt with tremendous credentials. The students there are very humble and treat you like family from day one. The facility and location are fantastic with good parking and plenty of mat space for training. I wouldn't train anywhere else, this is truly world class training from a world renowned Professor and organization Gracie Barra.
I highly recommend Gracie Barra in Southlake, if you interested in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or just trying to get in shape . I never trained in any kind of martial arts so i was hesitate to try, but once i stopped by to get more information, Alejandro Doudement the Head Coach was very welcoming and made it easy for me to get plugged in. He asked for me to stay and jump in and train for free...they even provided a Gi to workout with. Alejandro Doudement taught in a way that it was easy to learn and to execute the moves correctly. I like how Alejandro Doudement takes his time to teach each student and his attention to detail is very helpful when just starting out with no knowledge of Jiu Jitsu. I've talked to many people that have done Jiu Jitsu for several years and have been to 3 to 5 Jiu Jitsu training facilities...and they all have said that Gracie Barra in Southlake is the best place to train because they actually have a curriculum to follow from basics to advanced. I have been there a month now and Im loving it!
I spent this past spring break visiting with friends in Southlake, Tx and my buddy took me to this dojo to try out jiu-jitsu for my first time. It was awesome! I had so much fun, it was a very positive experience. Alejandro Siqueira Doudement ran the dojo and personally taught both classes that I attended during the week, he made me feel welcome and a part of the group. I could tell that the individuals training there were passionate about what they were doing. If i lived within 30 miles of this Dojo i would sign up in a heat beat. Its empowering, a great work out and best of all it's a fun activity. I recommend it to any one.
