Planet Fitness - Green Bay (West), WI
Reviews
Broken-down, poorly maintained equipment. Disgusting locker rooms that look like they're cleaned maybe once a week. Rude, unfriendly, and unknowledgeable staff. Save your money STAY AWAY from Planet Fitness.
I like this gym. After reading other people's thoughts (which I respect) I gotta say some things. You go to the gym to get in shape, get the body you want and meet new people. You can't get upset about workers eating McDonald's. You' are at the gym to get in shape. Focus on yourself. The workers there are friendly & the gym is clean. I haven't noticed but if they are not wearing name tags just ask for their name and introduce yourself with a handshake. Going to the gym does take self motivation. You gotta want it. Planet Fitness offers many cardio/abdominal & core/upper & lower body machines. The pizza and tootsie rolls are just treats. You can don't have to have any. To sum it up Planet Fitness is great. I really like it. Just follow the gym's rules and you'll be fine.
Great place.. youre here to workout. Dont worry what people are eating. You want top top brand new shiney equipment go spend 70+ a month and stfu. PF keep it going peeps. Thank you
Thought I would love planet fitness but I would go every morning to see workers eating mc donalds which isnt very motivating. and the equipment isnt the greatest never see anyone doing the so call cardio or little classes etc. all in all this is very very poor place and they say its a easy membership and they charged me to cancel and charged after that I would not ever let any of my family or friends go here.
I am really writing this review to address some of the issues others have with this gym. As far as staff being incompetent, at this location I have found there is little to no training and it is really a learn as you go type job. It's not that they don't want to help you, it's that they weren't given the resources to do so properly. As far as name tags go, they are supposed to be given to each employee but for some reason they are not. I'm not sure if the manager is a bit scatterbrained or what is going on there. But I'm sure if you personally brought these things to the attention of a manager he/she would be more likely to pay attention to these problems. No one likes feeling inadequate at their job or insecure in their abilities to provide great customer service. I for one can't stand when a job does not offer proper training. It makes me feel that I cannot do my job well and is frustrating. And the comment about employees eating McD's, they do not have a break room and probably cannot leave for break and McD's is right next to PF. It is not their job to motivate you with their eating habits. Just ignore that and focus on your health. But overall I think this is an OK gym. Not the best selection of equipment in the world but it is enough to get the job done. As long as you have a general idea of how to exercise properly, you will do fine. (Cardio about 5 days per week, strength training about 3 days per week, and a proper diet which would include lots of fiber and protein.) If you are looking to get bulky, then, as PF makes abundantly clear, this is not the gym for you. I personally believe to get the most out of a membership here, you should be quite self motivated. It is not like a more intense gym where you could have a personal trainer every day.Membership prices are reasonable. They have a $10/month plan or a $20/per month for one year then $100 per year for the black card membership. I think Planet Fitness could work on cleaning a bit more. I believe they only do the janitorial work on the night shift. That makes sense because there are less customers but then no one really sees how clean it is and during the day when it is the most busy it can get quite dirty. All in all and OK gym that will meet your basic exercise and health needs.
