Burlington Fitness & Racquet Club
Reviews
I've been a member for a while and prior to the gym merger it was a fantastic club! I don't think BFRC took into consideration any of it's current members when they decided to squish all of the workout gear together so your workout is literally on top of the person next to you. The last time I was there one cable machine was broken, the other two seemed like they hadn't been greased in forever and there were weights and attachments left everywhere and it was only 7 am! What happened to the "Zero Tolerance"? Overall I am now completely dissatisfied with this gym and would no longer recommend it to anyone. It is really sad because this was an amazing gym!
great weight facilities, tennis... and staff are amazing!
I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews. Personally, I think the place is fine. Sure it's not pristine and filled with bimbos, but it has a TON of good equipment to use, great squash courts and just the fact they provide towels and soap for you, is a god send. Yeah, some of the ceiling tiles are water damaged or cracked, but why the hell are people looking at the ceiling when they should be exercising or working out?? I can't speak for the classes since I've never taken one and probably never will. I'm just into squash and cardio workouts, both of which are perfect for my needs.
Reception area is soooooo old, with dirty smelly couches. Young blonde girl on reception can't even lift her head when you enter or leave. The place needs a major overhaul, starting with a simple paint. Water leaking through the roof in at least 20 places when it rains, buckets everywhere to catch the rain!! Equipment very very dated, tried 3 bikes before I found 1 in working order, locker room the same, at least half the lockers are rusted and unable to lock, doors snibs have been cut off. Washroom by squash courts filthy and doors on stalls had no lock, just a hole where lock should be!! This place is big and could be a great place but it needs a lot of money spent on it, because it's a dump.
I don't play racquet sports but the gym is the best kept secret in Burlington. Two power racks, one squat rack, 3 benches, a fair amount of machines and lots of space to move around. They're a little weird about some rules like no chalk but if you're not making a complete mess, you're probably okay.
