Very nice facility. Clean and many options. Totally worth the membership!
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER IN MY LIFE. RUN AWAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are the worst gym i've ever had a membership with EVER. They are **** RUDE **** Period. The charges never stop. I moved out of state 6 months ago, contacted them almost every month to cancel my membership. They say they would get back to me after investigating my case, but NEVER DO. RUN AWAY!!!! I would recommend YMCA if you are shopping for a gym.
This gym is by far one of the worst to ever have a membership at. My reason for joining the gym was based on misleading information, first i was told my name had been drawn from a raffle i entered and it would not only waive my enrollment fee but i was told i would get the VIP package for the price of the basic, i was told there would be no signing fee and that my package also allowed me to hold a month to month membership for the first 24months- basically no contract and i could cancel when i wanted to just as long as a 30day notice was given. now in the three moths that i have been at the gym they have on two occasions made unauthorized withdrwals from my account. the first time they charged me the signing fee they originally stated I wouldnt have to pay; and an agreement was made that the next month i wouldnt have to pay. Now this most recent unprofessional act they chrged me double this month because they said they didnt receive a payment for the prior month ( the month i was told i wouldnt have to pay for) when i went up to the gym to dispute it i was told by_ a very rude, eyerolling, paper throwing girl named Holly; that because the agreement was made by the person i made my contract with and not management that the agreement would not be honored. Now i like to think that ii have home traing and that I am a level-headed young woman 98% of the time so i told them that was fine i didnt want to cause a scene i just wanted to cancel my contract. she then stated to me that my request was acknowledged but it was denied and that i was bound to a 24month contract. Im currently still handeling the situation by demanding a meeting but even the owner- sarah Longshore refuses to be an actual leader and take responsibility for the misleading information that her workers give. The staff is poorly trained and the management needs to take courses in customer service. My advice is to find a different gym to consider because this gym is by far the worst. they will smile and tell all kinds of lies to join but then when you try and work with them for their mistakes and you try to cancel all the smiles fade away and all you get is rude behavior and denied requests for membership- unless you want to pay the $250.00 plus an additional 10% of your monthly "contract" to leave early.
thieves and crooks.... they charged us twice the amount we agreed on... then started pulling from our account twice a month..... they were very rude about us getting our money back or canceling our membership.... hostile and angry rude people
Unfortunately, The Family Fitness Center houses the only climbing gym in the Huntsville area, but I would recommend installing a hang board in your house or picking up a different sport before giving this place any of your money. The front desk staff is largely incompetent and very frustrating to deal with, especially if required to do anything other than scan your card when you walk in. The climbing facilities are run-down, unsafe, and routinely unstaffed. I have been to many climbing gyms and have never seen the kinds of practices that go on in that place. I paid over $300 in membership fees after discontinuing use of the facilities because I was obligated to under contract, but I figure that's better than a permanent injury due to overused ropes and iffy structural support. If for some reason you do decide to patronize this place, make sure you read every bit of fine print on the contract. Or better yet- just pay the daily fee because it won't take long for you to change your mind!
