Tucson Racquet & Fitness Club
Reviews
Not a snob club. Though focused on racquet sports, there's something for everyone. Offers excellent kids' camps; clinics for adults, nursery, massage, salon and nutritional counseling. I enjoy Silver Sneakers 3x/wk. Loved Postural Fitness classes. Long list of fitness classes at every level. Gym, spa and pools open 24/7. Really good bar/restaurant open to anyone. It's an older facility so ongoing maintenance. Parking on busy mornings difficult to find. Great BBQ's w/live music 8 months of the yr open to all. Friendly place; great staff * good customer service. I LOVE the place!
The best thing I did when I retired was to join TRC. Not only am I playing a lot of very fun tennis, but the club has helped provide me with the richest social life I've ever had. I've made so many great friends there, and I meet up with them regularly at the Club for tennis,Happy Hour, and games, I also have found our that many of my tennis buddies love hiking as much as I do so I never lack for a companion on the trail.
I joined my first United States Tennis Association (USTA) league at the Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club (TRC) back in 2011 - Because I joined a USTA league team the club waived the initiation fee and gave me 50% off membership dues for the first two months - What a deal! TRC also has a rich history spanning over 30 years - At one time it was known as the Margaret Court Tennis Club Ranch - Grand Slam Champion Margaret Court actually gave tennis lessons at the club and in 1976 the club hosted a Davis Cup match - Some of the greats who played at TRC back in the 60's, 70's and 80's include Arthur Ashe, Bjorn Borg, Billie Jean King, Bobby Riggs, Jimmy Connors, Roscoe Tanner, John Newcombe, Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Stan Smith, Bob Lutz, Fred Stolle and Ricardo "Pancho" González TRC has a very appealing family oriented rustic feel to it - I sometimes feel like I'm playing tennis in my backyard, only here there are 33 lighted tennis courts, 11 racquetball/handball courts, an elaborate fitness center, a restaurant and a very cozy upstairs lounge for after match socializing
I love Tucson Racquet Club! It's the best tennis in all of Tucson and there are lots of other things to do there besides. I go to lots of Pilates, Fitness and Yoga classes which are terrific. The upstairs bar has just been redone and is a wonderful meeting place. The restaurant is very good, the food delicious especially the soup. I love TRC and recommend it highly!
I love the Club and and 24 hours is hard to beat. Can't imagine going to a different gym. A lot too keep you busy. Lifting, swimming, yoga, tennis, basketball and jacuzzis. The restaurant serves good food and it is definitely a kid friendly environment.
