KHAOS Fitness

I have been a member for LA Workout for many years. I came to the gym solely for the workout classes. I NEVER used the gym equipment. Classes are $10 per/month, in addition to the monthly gym membership. The classes were included in my contract because I paid a full year up front. In June 2014 I renewed my 'LA Workout' membership for another year, again, my contract included classes. Fast forward to October 2014. The gym has a new name (Khaos) and a new owner. I showed up for my weekly class and I am confronted at the door by a woman stating that I will no longer be allowed to take classes UNLESS I pay $30 more per/month! I informed her I paid a full year and my contract included the classes. She said the gym is no longer LA Workout and my contract is null and void. I continued go to my class. I was then confronted by the guy who sold me the 1 year 'LA Workout' membership back in June. He happens to be a relative of the new Khaos owner. He began harassing me stating that come November 1st, I will no longer be allowed to take classes unless I pay $30 more per/month. He did, however, state that I could use the gym equipment without having to pay any extra money. He knew very well I took classes only and never used the gym equipment. After all, he was the one that signed me up in June! He tried to extort more money out of me by dangling the classes in my face. Wow, really?? Very shady and poor business practices. These people took enough from me. I would not give them one more penny! I used to look forward to going to my class, but these people tainted the whole experience. The harassment got to be too much. I stopped going all together. Be very careful when signing up for a gym membership. It is best to go month-to-month. Also, use a credit card instead of a debit. It's much easier to dispute charges on a credit card than it is debit.
