Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu Academy

I have been training at Gracie Barra Santa Barbara for the past year. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the people who run it. They have a great schedule with multiple classes that I can choose from throughout the day. Both Professor Rodrigo and Coach Ighor have been amazing to learn from, and are great just to be around. I have found the other students to be very considerate and helpful. I am in awe of this place and how much fun I have had.
Great Professor, Great friend = Great Students……. He really knows what he's doing and very passion on what he's doing, keep it up with your grew job….. Cido
Gracie Barra Santa Barbara is a great place to train! All instructors are top notch and very knowledgeable. Mats are big and clean and the students are all courteous and have good attitudes. I highly recommend to anyone who is interested in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
I can't say enough good things about Gracie Barra. The instructors are great, not only are they knowledgeable and highly skilled they are very friendly and welcoming as well. I've trained at all of the local bjj spots and the student's are waaaay more welcoming and willing to embrace new students than the other schools in town. Many of the people at GB will go out of their way to help you without being asked and everyone you ask will be happy to help you and share their knowledge. My experience elsewehere has been precisely the opposite. It's a real family at GB Santa Barbara, I have great respect for Professor's Rodrigo and JP and the manner in which they operate their school. BJJ is a highly technical, difficult martial art and at GB you will be properly supported by caring teachers and helpful teammates. GB Santa Barbara has seriously impacted my life in a positive way and I believe it will do the same for you.
GBSB is one of my favorite places to be. You'll find me there almost every night and sometimes twice a day getting my training in. I love the environment. Everyone is very polite and friendly. The instructors and professors are always there to help me improve my BJJ game and encourage me to do better. The students are all there to learn and help learn, not to beat you up like I've experienced at other gyms. And as for the kids program, sometimes there will be like 20-30 kids in a class and they'll all be so engaged in what the instructor/ professor is teaching. They've got a great program going on. And a great pink team thats on the rise! ~Alicia
