I have been to every gym in the area, including Rising Stars' old location. Out of all the gyms I have been to, this is BY FAR the most impressive! Their new gym is HUGE! There is a gymnastics room, a cheer/rhythmic gymnastics room, a huge preschool gymnastics room...as well as an actual preschool, 2 large dance studios, a large karate area, and an entire upstairs that is used for camps AS WELL AS rooms that are upstairs that a possible yoga studio that is rumored to be in the makes. What you can see from the lobby is only a fraction of what there really is. Basically, the entire building upstairs and downstairs is owned by Rising Stars. They have only been at this location for a few months, so the decorating is on its way, but everytime I go in they've painted another wall, or hung up more decorations..the preschool area is incredible. You can tell that they are constantly trying to better themselves. NOT TO MENTION, it's definitely the cheapest gym in the area, and the coaches here really know what they're doing. There are a few young coaches who I was skeptical about at first, until I saw them throwing backflips on the beam during their break, so apparently everyone who works there young and old are all ex gymnasts. It's really comforting knowing that true gymnasts are teaching, and that they're not just some kids working in a job that they have no experience in like other gyms seem to do. They really do offer a lot. I feel like they're the underdogs out of all the gyms, but they are definitely worth going to. Honestly, I pick my gyms based on what their team scores at competitions, and this gym scored WAY higher than other local gyms. So if it isn't obvious that this is the gym you should take your child to...then do some research: Check competition team scores, check the reviews on google or yelp, and check the prices! Everything screams Rising Stars. This is definitely the gym that I will be staying at.
We've only been a Rising Stars for a few months. We went there in September because my daughter watched the Olympics this summer and she wanted to "learn how to flip." We tried to sign up for a class on Tuesdays at 4:00, but it was completely full, so we went to watch on the first day and boy were we happy we did. Although the gym is small, there is a homey feeling and all of the instructors knew the kids names and the parents were welcomed. I was particularlly impressed with the skills the kids were learning and when I asked the really nice desk person about the curriculum she was able to tell me about it and I could see that they have a definite system for teaching the skills. I also liked that all of the students got to work with all of the teachers-what a +. My daughter was disappointed when we left, but we signed up for another day and she loves it. We are in our 2nd session and there is some kind of class showcase at the end of this session for the families to watch! Can't Wait!
I have been taking my daughter to Rising Stars Gymnastics for 4 years now and we absolutely love it there! It's been such a positive experience that we also just enrolled our younger daughter in the recreational classes as well. We originally took our older daughter as an outlet for her ADHD, but she enjoyed it so much that she eventually joined the competitive team. The gym is like a second home to her and she would literally spend every day there if we would let her. The owner and the coaches are amazing individuals and gymnastics instructors. They care about the children that come to the gym and give 1000% to helping develop the entire child and not just a competitive athlete. I trust their guidance and even more importantly, I trust them with my daughters. This is also the most reasonably priced gym in the area and without the owner's extraordinary effort to keep fees down fewer children would get to be part of such a great program. I am so grateful to them for the dedication and caring that they have shown my daughter during the past 4 years and we look forward to spending many more years with them.
Tried this gym in 2012. There is a serious, serious mold issue! Additionally I saw 3 huge cockroaches in just one hour, coming out in the broad daylight. Obviously infested. The coaches were wonderful. The atmosphere was nice- even the other moms were nice. I carefully observed the advanced class and the coaches were encouraging and kind rather than pushy. But their warehouse gym seems very unhealthy to me. Mold is a serious health issue not to be ignored.
AN AMAZING GYM! THE COACHES ARE EXCELLENT TEACHERS AND ROLE MODELS! THEY NOT ONLY KNOW THE SPORT, BUT ARE SUPPORTIVE, NURTURING, AND KNOW HOW TO BEST MOTIVATE EACH MEMBER OF THE TEAM! WE STARTED THERE AS A RECREATIONAL AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITY AND YEARS LATER ARE THRILLED TO BE PART OF THE RISING STARS GYMNASTICS TEAM! I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS GYM TO EVERYONE!
