Gold's Gym
Reviews
As Gold's Gyms go, this one is definitely not one of the better ones. Not having used the cardio equipment, I can't speak to how well those machines work, but with regards to the free weights and the barbell set ups, this is without a doubt the worst gym I have ever lifted in. Each of the weight stations is missing the full range of 5, 10, 25, 35, and 45 lb plates. You have to take weights from other stations in order to set up properly, and if someone else is using the lone set of 10 lb plates, you have to wait. The dumbbell set is complete, albeit very marked up and well worn sets. In fact, all of the equipment, barbells, weight machines, benches, dumbbells, all looked 30+ years old. Wear is one thing, but rust on the steel and iron is unacceptable. If you're a Gold's Gym member passing though Springfield looking to work out, God help you if weight training is part of your regimen. You should never have to hunt for plates or use poorly maintained equipment. A coat of paint and a little cleaning go a long way, Isn't that why we have expensive memberships? I'd be EMBARRASSED if I were Gold's Gym to have this gym represent my brand.
