Hoosier CrossFit
Reviews
Being new to Crossfit, I didn't know what to expect walking into Hoosier Crossfit. I started out with Crossfit Light, and loved the fast-paced workouts. After a couple of weeks, I was encouraged to sign up for their On-Ramp course. I am so glad I did! I've never been challenged more than I am with their programming. The coaches genuinely care about you and your journey to meet your goals. Coach Heather knows how to give you just the amount of push you need to get past those mental blocks and help you see that you CAN do it! Mobility is an essential part of each and every workout, and if you're having issues with a body part or are injured, they are the best at working with you to keep you active and moving. Last but not least, the community they've created at Hoosier Crossfit is the most amazing group of people I've ever met. They truly are like a big family and I feel blessed to be a part of it. If you're in the Bloomington area, drop in and visit HCF. You'll be glad you did.
Hands down the best gym experience I've ever had. No where else will you get the feeling of community in town. It's like working out with your friends everyday which makes you hold yourself more accountable for going.
I've visited a few CrossFit affiliates around the country and I have been amazed by the wide variety of quality I've encountered. I've visited some that I would NEVER return to and others that I really enjoyed, but I've never been to another affiliate quite like Hoosier CrossFit. The quality of the programming, the coaching, and the facility/equipment are second to none. I'm amazed that a gym of its size can operate with such an incredibly high level of quality control. The coaches ensure safety, proper technique, and optimal performance for every member, for every class. The people are pretty great too! I have a ton of close personal friends from HCF. The community aspect of CrossFit is one of its biggest assets. Hoosier CrossFit is great, definitely the best affiliate in Bloomington!!
Don't waste your time at the other box in town. This is the Gold Standard for Cross Fit!! It's more than just another gym to workout at.
What can I say? Crossfitting has changed my life and I am addicted!!! When joining Hoosier Crossfit in January 2011 I was very intimidated seeing people there doing ring dips, pullups, weightlifting, etc. I voiced my inabilities to do these things to Jenna (one of the owners) and she assured me that I would gradually be introduced to them and that they are modifiable to each individual's capabilities...whew! What do I love, love, love about it? Each day is a new unknown routine decided on by the owners (eliminates the boredom or confusion of what to do next). The motivation from the trainers (owners) and the other members is priceless - many a time I would have just quit had they not pushed me. The sense of "family", it doesn't matter what level you are at, you are welcomed and encouraged. The sense of accomplishment at the end of a workout - nearly each morning (still today) I see the workout written on the board and think "I can't do that" but I "try" it anyway and I have not failed completing a workout yet. So, what are you waiting for? If a 45 year old, overweight, out of shape, female can do it, so can you :)
