If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Keep in mind this incident happened a few years ago, so Im not even sure if the same people work there. My wife signed up for Genesis and enjoyed it up until we had to leave because I was assigned a new duty station. She called the club and spoke to a manager that told her that since it was Military related, they would cancel it no questions asked. She made an appointment to see this manager so she could get her membership cancelled. When she arrived, the manager was not there. She seen a assistant manager that told her yes the membership would be cancelled and she wouldn't owe the remaining balance, but that the actual manager/owner would need to be the person who did it, and he scheduled another time for her to come meet with him. She went to the second appointment, and guess what? The manager "wasn't there". So she then talked to another person who told her the same thing. Scheduled another appointment with the manager, etc. The third time she went in, we did meet with the manager, got everything cancelled, was told they waived the remaining balance, etc. 3 months later she gets a letter in the mail saying she is going to be sent to collections for the remaining balance. She calls the manager up and tells her that since she wasn't military he wouldn't honor what he, and 2 other managers/assistant managers had told her. She argued with him for awhile about what was discussed then told her if she could come in the would figure something out. At this time we didn't live in Wichita, but we set aside some time, and travelled there to get this thing resolved. When we got there on the scheduled date and time, after traveling from Fort Riley to Wichita, the manager/owner was a no show...again. This happened 2 more times until finally we just stopped in and he was there and we saw him. We sat down to talk to him. He started off by telling us we were wasting his time, that he wasn't honoring shit (yes his words) and that he doesn't understand why we wont get that through our heads. As soon as I, or my wife tried to say anything, he would jump up from his seat and run off. He would come back after a few minutes and ask us why we were still sitting here. When my wife said to him if they were not going to honor what he, and 2 other managers told her, then why say it to begin with. He then lied and said that no one ever told is they would write off the remaining balance. It just so happen that the 2 other managers or assistant managers were there and actually backed us up. When that happened he got mad, started calling my wife a liar, and stormed off. We got up and started to walk out when he came up to us and told us to never return. Some people may think something like this wouldn't happen because of all the positive reviews, but it does, and there are plenty of witness to back up this story
