I attend this gym either at 5 a.m. or around 8 am. I never have a problem with crowds or parking. Sometimes if I arrive later at 9 or 10 parking is a bit harder, but I have always found parking. If you show up at 5 pm be ready for a busy night between college kids and people getting of work, but if you don't expect that, it your fault, not the gym's. I like the equipment and I never have a problem finding the weights or grips i need. The fact that the equipment isn't brand new doesn't bother me, as long as it works. There are 5 paper towel machines in the larger area and I have never found an empty spray bottle. The music isn't great, but that's why you have headphones. They have clean towels 90% of the time, but a few times they have been out. Most of my big complaints come from other members, not the gym staff; some people are a little too "free" in the locker rooms, people don't put weights away, or people don't clean the equipment when they are done using it....basic gym etiquette. But most of the people I see everyday are people I know and are friendly and willing to give a spot if need be. I have never had a problem sharing equipment or taking turns. The trainers do seem a bit distant but they are their to train their customers, not there to provide me with conversation. I have never been harassed about training, supplements, or classes. After my initial sign up they have never called or approached me once.
Dirty bathrooms, only a small figment of what this place used to be. The music has got to be the most deplorable I have ever experienced at a gym. It would be like asking one's own doctor to order him up a sex change - complete testosterone depletor. The free weight room hasn't been updated in years. Though they recently bought a power rack, the gym itself lacks any real bars (ones that have hard knurling in the middle and are 1000 lb. test bars). Price is the only thing that keeps folks here - wouldn't be anything else...
It is very affordable and the class instructors are the best. But it is very dirty, too much of the equipment is in bad shape. The biggest problem is that it has been way oversold and that is why it is so dirty and so crowded. Parking is a huge problem because of this as well. FC seems to be in the business of selling memberships rather than attending to the fitness needs of its members. Safety is becoming an issue there now. It has some advantages but the bottom line is that they are trying to sell as many memberships as possible without regard to the benefit of members, especially those that work out regularly. FC receives some positive reviews on this and other sites. Bear in mind that sometimes FC has contest giveaways for those that post positive reviews, so take some of the positive reviews with a grain of salt.
Had to move because of work and it was like breaking up with a girlfriend who won't hear the words "It's over." I provided all the documentation they requested and then they'd need one more document that they "forgot" to mention. I'd provide it and then they'd either not contact me back or they needed something else. If you join them, you join them for life. #ForBetterOrWorse The above comments are strictly my opinion
When I changed my training program from twice a month to once a week I continued to be charged for both for 5 months. I demanded a $400 refund and was told it would take 4-6 weeks to send a check, they would not credit my VISA. It has now been over 12 weeks and I've gotten no response from the corporate office to my complaint. I will not be renewing my membership and will continue to press for the refund. I would not have renewed anyway because the gym is overcrowded and very poorly ventilated, with no clean air to get rid of the body odor and heat. The equipment is not wiped down after use because supplies are scarce and not placed near the equipment, and probably nobody enforces it. The foam is peeling off the old floor mats which are also not sanitary and need to be replaced.
