I am a person who has never stuck to exercising for any length of time, and yet I have been doing Pilates for nearly 6 years, for the past 1 1/2 years with Hope. Pilates has literally changed my life, from being woken up during the night with back pain, to no pain, and lots more energy. Hope has been instrumental in making me feel great. Her studio is relaxing, comfortable and she is a delight to work with. I look forward to coming each week and am disappointed when I have to miss a week. If you have not tried Pilates before, give it a try at the Activ Balance Center. You will be glad you did.
I've been doing Pilates with Hope Cohen at Activ Balance Center for 3 years now, and love it still the same if not more with every session. The routine never gets old, because every time I take a class I learn something new about the exercise or about my body. I find that when I take a class in the morning it gives me an energy boost for the rest of the day. I also notice that when I come after work, feeling tired, after class I'm ready to take on the world. Not only do I feel my mood lifted, but I also see changes in my body and that's definitely an inspiration. Before I started pilates, I would work out in the gym, lifting a little bit of weights, and taking aerobics classes, but I never really noticed any changes in my body, muscle tone or muscle strength. Another thing to mention after doing pilates for about a year, I noticed that I stopped looking for the imperfections in my body. I look at myself in the mirror and admire it instead!!! If you're reading this, and have never taken a class, you should definitely give pilates/active core a chance. And if you've taken pilates before, then you will most likely agree with me.
