Slimy, slithering, used car salesmen. Bunch of people working on commission that will say whatever they need to say to get you to sign up. Avoid Wayne. 1. Told me they needed friends phone number that I had on my account for insurance purposes. I made them promise my friends wouldn't get phone calls. My friends got 3 calls a week until I cancelled my membership. 2. Told me they'd have someone show me around my first day. I said fine, as long as they don't try to sell me anything. He promised. Hard sell at the end of session of course. 3. Customer service is awful. If you ask the front desk for a ball while they are on a call hassling someone else you are getting a severe eye roll. 4. Don't you dare ask someone to change the TV channel. 5. When I tried to cancel on the phone the girl told me I had to come in. This is how that went, Me: "I'd like to cancel my membership" Customer Service All Star: "Sorry you have to come in" Me: "Why?" CSA-S: "Our policy is you have to talk to a manager in person, we don't do that over the phone" ME: "That's your policy because it makes it harder to quit" CSA-S: "Probably." (first honest thing anyone said to me from LA fitness) Spoiler Alert: When I came in later in the day I talked to the same person at the front desk and she cancelled my membership (not a manager). She asked me why and when I started to tell her she interrupted saying, 'ok, ok, got it.' PLEASE DON'T JOIN THIS GYM. If you want to go to a place crawling with a bunch of sleezy folk that were probably moderately cool in junior high and now adjust to their shitty lives by being horrible at their job and acting too good to do anything, this is your place. As for me, I'm back to the YMCA.
I am basing my comments off of my last gym membership (25yr member of the YMCA; last 10 years at the Mel Korum facility in Puyallup). I go to the gym somewhat early (6:30ish) on the weekdays and have NO trouble getting on any equipment. I can also use the pool anytime I wish. Most equipment is well maintained. The "weekday" cleaning crew on the Men's side is awesome, they do a great job.. My complaints are: 1. The condition of the locker room first thing Monday morning...The "weekend" cleaning crew is HORRIBLY BAD. They appear to be non-existent and it has been the same since I joined 3 months ago. 2. I like to use the sauna and jacuzzi after a workout but the temperature in both is VERY inconsistent. Every once in a while the sauna gets up to the 135-140 range but not often and the jacuzzi rarely gets above a tepid bath. 3. I'm not a big fan of the front "greeting" desk employees doing phone calling to late paying clients when I am trying to check in. Please do business in the office, not at the greeting booth.
Cleanliness is not their best at this gym iand the men's sauna is never up to par. There have been several complaints about the mens sauna and unfortunately it never runs above 150 to 160 this is great if you're retired and have an hour to spend in the sauna but that's not my case. it's Not rocket science for some reason they can't figure it out its been over a year. All of the other clubs that I've been to their sauna was perfect just don't get it
great place for workout... thats it!!! maybe pool/sauna once in a blue moon, but mostly just a workout.
This gym has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Good luck trying to get someone to do the most basic things like change a channel. They will dismis you no matter what your concern and treat you like caddle. Not to mention lock you in to an overpriced contract. Dirty and disgusting restrooms and pool area. Not recommended
