Matt Griffin YMCA: Child Care
Reviews
We love the Matt Griffin Y! Membership cost is reasonable and assistance is available for low income; and there are tons of free classes included with membership. Favorite group exercise instructors are Philomena T. and Deb K., both wonderful. Fitness room does get crowded at times, of course, like all gyms. Best at off-hours weekday early mornings and late evenings. We have never had a problem with cleanliness of the facility. We've had a family membership for four or five years, my elderly father even attends some of the senior classes with us.
Today went swimming for first time in months. Poolside littered with papers, threads, globs of hair. Women's shower room had dirty towels in stalls and on floor, one area on floor @ entrance nearest the hamper by first stall, had what appeared to be blood on the floor. I see people cleaning outside the pool, but not around pool or in shower room. It should be done much more frequently than it is and maybe if people with long hair had to wear caps, there wouldn't be so many hair globs. Ugh!
Never go here, the workers are all terrible especially mark and Keegan. Filled with a bunch of annoying kids, people there are all dirty. Go somewhere else. Has been getting worse and worse for the last three years.
Free 1 ½ daycare while I workout?! Sold.
This facility is fairly nice - I especially like the pool and the staff are friendly. It's not a good deal for single adults. I pay more than I would for nicer gyms and then find myself crowded out by high schoolers using the equipment for gym class or family swimming lessons. I only belong because it's near work - otherwise I'd go elsewhere.
