Laguna Niguel Family YMCA
Reviews
This place has become a joke. I expressed some of my displeasure with the boss Jen who did not have much interest in solving the problems, but rather telling me that I should look elsewhere if I cannot handle the fact that I am not getting what I pay for. Customer complaints and feedback fall on deaf ears and nothing gets resolved with any efficiency or timeliness. It took over two years to get the floor in the weight room redone and now they allowed the roof to leak so long that several tiles came down during the last storm. The basketball court, which is almost NEVER open to members, is one step above unplayable condition due to the lack of upkeep and tremendous amount of dirt, dust and other debris on it. Bottom line is that if you do not have a family with children participating in activities here this is not a place for you. Staff and attitudes like what I have encountered are the reason why the YMCA is going downhill quick. 3/19 update- After my above post was read I was promptly contacted by management (Jen) who encouraged me to modify this post. I made it clear that if the needed changes took place I was would do so. Once Jen and Bill realized that they actually had to do their job(s) they opted to terminate my membership rather then dealing with the ongoing negligence of customer service and the facility. Moral of this story is pretty simple and that is if you do not have a family stay away from this place. LA Fitness is less then half the monthly membership charge with longer hours and employees who value the customers. Only took me one workout over there to figure that out.
it is so gross it is laughable. I didn't think it would be top of the line, but it is sad. They could at least throw some paint on the walls. Missing paint everywhere. just foul! I don't understand where the $73 a month money goes. That's how bad it is, I can't of think of anything it goes to. The kids area is sad. The locker rooms are so ugly and out dated. They don't even seem clean and it is just sad. All of it, sad. The outside areas are nice. The inside IS GROSS.
The equipment is relatively new and in good shape. It's clean and the instructors are fantastic. There is a nice, friendly vibe here, unlike most other meat-market gyms which reak of stinky man-sweat and hormones. It's a great Y, and a great gym. $45 a month for unlimited everything from free weights to Zumba classes to yoga and swimming is a great deal. Great for families and single people alike.
So many things to do at the YMCA - pool, aerobics, weights. But they have more included with a membership. Indoor rockclimbing, New Kid's Zone, free kids classes. Great for all ages!
