In-Shape

My Wife and I were looking to join a local gym. We walked into In-Shape Fitness in Lemoore. All we wanted to know where the monthly prices for membership. We asked the attendant behind the desk, and he could not help us. He said we had to talk to one of the Sales Associates. OK, a little weird, but whatever. So we wait for the sales person who informs us that we have to sign a waiver before we can tour the GYM. We told her we are familiar with what the inside of a gym looks like, and we were just wanting the prices. She stated that she could not give us the prices until we took a tour of the gym. We told her that we weren't interested in the tour, and just wanted the prices. She got rude as hell, and insisted we sign the waiver, and refused to give us the prices until we did. We turned around and left. What kind of place refuses to give you their prices up front? Anyway, The next day, I called up there and spoke to another employee in an attempt just to find out their prices. After a whole lot of nonsense, I finally got it out of him. The entire time he kept pushing for a contract, which I refuse to do, and said since I'm Military, I could get out of it at any time. I know that this is a FLAT OUT LIE. It is only true if you are moving, and are in receipt of orders, then you might have a chance of getting out of it. Anyway, My take on the whole place is that they will try and bully you into a contract, and the feeling I get is that they are just after your money. If I were you, I'd steer clear of this place. Avoid it like the plague. There are other Gyms in Lemoore, Try the Body Shop on D street. Just a final note for IN-Shape Lemoore. Had you not been stupid and try to give us the whole high pressure sale, and a contract. we probably would have joined. I don't know how many other people you have driven away with your antics, but we cant be alone.
Felt like I was in a Planet Fitness. Definitely not a "gym rat"'s kind of gym. No deadlifts platforms, no squat rack and only one bench press. I'm certainly not going back again.
Extremely small free weight area. One or two inconsiderate people is all you need to ruin your routine. Nice staff. Cancelled my membership due to a move to a town farther than...idk 25 miles? Anyways I drove all the way to the Lemoore branch to submit my cancellation request and provide the paperwork as proof of my move (Valid reason to void contract) in person. Apparently the person that helped me never faxed the proof of move paperwork with my cancellation request to corporate. That same day I was there I was told to turn in my membership card so as to not to use the facilities any longer. About 2 months later I'm still getting deductions to my bank account. After making a few phone calls the deductions stopped but instead I ended up getting a bill over mail...to my new address...of a monthly fee + $10 because I dont have Electronic Funds Transfers set up anymore. I called up corporate and they gave me the whole 30days notice spiel so that's the reason why I was still being charged. I had to send the proof of move myself. To make a long story short I dont remember how many times I was told THIS was going to be the last bill. I ended up paying two months past what I was actually allowed to use the gym + $50 cancellation fee. So if bill after bill fee after fee from a gym towards a person that was told to turn in their membership card thereby refusing member access seem fair...go ahead and sign up. In the end I might as well just paid the contract cancellation. The few extra bucks would'v saved me the headache.
nice to work out there but after i cancelled my membership they charged me for six additional months and ran me in circles to pay my balance. never again.
