This is truly a gym that cares about the community! I was helping organize a 5K to bring awareness to Oral Cancer and they kindly offered to help by making a donation and sponsor us. They didn't lead us to this person or that person, their owner actually took his personal time to talk with me and help out. And they are located right in downtown, which is great for those that work in the area or anyone to get their essential workout time in. I love their staff and is in a great location!

This gym has everything I need, which is good selection of free weights and machines. I also do a lot of the yoga, meditation and qi jong classes, which they offer for free to members. So its a no-brainer for me to come here. I also live downtown, so I know that if I signed up at a different gym, I simply would not go as often and would waste my money. This is really a no-brainer for anyone that lives downtown gaineville. Also, I'm an entrepreneur in town and I've noticed how much networking I do at the gym. There are several well known entrepreneurs that go to the gym and I always just seem to bump into them and get into beneficial conversations about issues I'm wrestling with and getting connected to resources to help my business. Without a doubt, I love this place for the equipment, the classes, the location and the networking!

I've been a member of Alter Ego since the summer of 2008. I joined because I would be living downtown and wanted a convenient location to work out at. They've got all the free weights and machines I need, and the atmosphere is pretty low-key and comfortable. The trainers there know what they're talking about and are always upbeat and positive. Most importantly, the equipment and facility is kept in good condition. Overall, a great, affordable fitness facility.

I love this gym and the new ownership is making huge improvements to the space, equipment and classes. Great staff that is friendly and helpful to members and wonderful FREE group fitness classes! Conveniently located in the downtown Sun Center at a great low monthly rate. I have been disappointed by other fitness centers in Gainesville, but have been coming here for almost a year. I highly recommend that you try it!

I became a member at Alter Ego Fitness about 6 months ago, and I'm glad I did. I have seen more results in the short period of time I have been a member here than I did working out alone the previous 10 years! Most of my results are owed to my personal trainer Jimmie. Jimmie is a consummate professional and knows his business. The gym is amazing as well, the atmosphere is professional and laid out for comfort and results. Crowds do not interfere and I have never had to sit and wait to do an exercise. Go out and get your membership and hit up Jimmie, Body by Jimmie, you will be glad you did.
