Shortly after I signed up, I was using this gym twice a day. Cardio in the AM and weight training in the evening. They even sold me a $5 lock to utilize their lockers. I came in one day and my lock had been cut off and all of my belongings were gone, including a very expensive pair of headphones. I asked the front desk where my stuff had gone and he looked around him and told me he didn't know. He told me to come back the next day after he asks around. Came back and he told me no one knew where it was but it was a policy to not leave your stuff in a locker. No one mentioned that policy to me and I didn't see any signs or warnings on the wall. Even so, that doesn't give them the right to dispose of MY property. I complained to the manager and asked to cancel my contract due to staff always being unprofessional and rude and to make up for my losses (headphones and clothes). He told me I'm not allowed out of my contract and that he "might have a pair of those headphones at home I could have." No thanks, I don't want your used headphones, I want MY headphones and my stuff back or I want out of the contract. He continued to offer his used headphones so I said I was going to corporate. They never got back to me and never responded to my formal request to get out of the contract, but are still billing me monthly.

I've been coming to this gym 4-5 times a week for the last year. Out of the many gyms I've been to its by far the most comforting, except UCF's school gym. The only problem I have with this planet fitness is they have far many more ellipticals and treadmill even at there most peek businesses hours. Unlike the planet fitness in Ocala and the planet fitness in Daytona, both had more cable, barbell bench, and squat rack exercises then the Gainesville planet fitness. There is plenty of space and empty machines to agree that more lifting exercises is needed, and overall the workouts are more creative to compensate for the lack of these weights. Not bad though.

Have been a member going on 3 yrs now. Highly recommended. Clean, well-lit, friendly atmosphere. Very central location w/ lots of parking. Tons of machines for $10/mo -- esp, more treads and elliptical machines than they had at another much costlier club I belonged to in another city. Wider range of people, ages, fitness levels and body types than I've seen at any other gym. Haven't done any of the add-on classes/training sessions so can't speak to that but for a DIY facility it's great.

I will NEVER go to Planet Fitness ever again! Began a membership in Boston and tried switching it to Florida and it took FOREVER!!! However they did not have a problem to continue charging my account and when trying to straighten things out, the manager was always busy and it has been 2 weeks that I have not received a return phone call. When trying to cancel my membership, I was still given a song and dance and still was charged for the following month even AFTER my membership was cancelled. Called corporate, left a message and guess what... Still have yet to here from anyone!

I really liked this gym and would recommend it to others!! The staff was really friendly and helpful, and the machines are well organized and clean. The locker room and bathrooms are very clean too, which is very helpful when you work out before or after work and need a place to change and shower.
