Worst customer service experience ever. I joined this gym on June 17th because its conveniently located by my house. I'm not able to work out during the day and they advertise 24/7 so I thought it would be a good fit. At the end of signing up with their sales person I was told they were out of keys but that they were to get a shipment in that night and that I would get a phone call the next day when one was available. After a month had past I looked at my checking account and noticed a fee charged by Body Renew. I had paid for June and July already and wasn't expecting a payment until Aug. I called the billing department and was greeted by a very rude woman telling me it was a yearly equipment upgrade fee. I was a member for a month and still didn't have a key so that I could access the gym at a time I could go. Once I finally received the key, I tried to use it 3 different times but the key doesn't work and I have yet to be able to use the gym. On 8/1 I was again charged a misc fee. I called today(8/5) to see where my refund was and I was greeted with the same "charming" billing person who was again rude. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. I have paid plenty of money and am still unable to use the gym.
I go to the Five Mile location because it is close to my home. The place is pretty compact but they have all the basics you go to a gym for. One review mentioned the machines telling you you've only burned 12 calories during a 30 minute work out, and all I have to say is you can never trust the machines calorie burn or heart rate readings. Even machines at the expensive gyms are almost always inaccurate. Also, the 5 star rating from "Dakota" is suspicious because the CEO of gym is named Dakota. If you look at "Dakota's" review history they give 5 stars to every Body Renew Fitness location and give negative reviews to several other gyms. The review right before mine looks slightly suspect as well. I have had similar billing issues that previous people have mentioned, but I was able to get it (semi-)resolved after several months of calling. Overall, I would have given it a higher rating if the ownership didn't have a seemingly pervasive shadiness. UPDATE: I have had more severe billing issues with Body Renew Fitness. The gym membership that I signed a contract for were around $15 per month, but Body Renew has been withdrawing more than $50 per month. After taking over a week to simply talk to someone in their billing 'department' they claim that the extra amount is for their gym improvement fund and was on the contract I signed. There was a gym improvement fee on the contract, but it was only $35 once a year in July. I ended my membership, but the bills for $50 keep coming from them. These people are a terrible combination of incompetent and corrupt, which makes dealing with them a frustrating nightmare. I honestly don't know how a place like this has not been shut down yet.
The reason I chose to start going to Body Renew (Five Mile) is it is close to my home. I've been going to Body Renew far too long! In a short period of a year and a half, there has been at least 4 different managers and none of them seem to be honest, hard working or kind. They are unprofessional, disrespectful and full of crap! Not to mention the other people who work there don't know anything. They all tell me different things and are never on the same page. You get what you pay for. Worst service EVER!
I don't know where these bad reviews are coming from. I've been a member for over a year at the gym and take part in the boot camp group training and I love this place! I signed up for a three year gym membership and only pay $10 a month. The trainers are nice, understanding and patient. They're open 24/365, the area is small but clean and has room to do my work out. Depending on what time of day (or night, lol) I go there may be one person or a dozen people but it rarely ever feels crowded, and that's coming from an autistic loner. If you're looking for a quite, clean, no pressure gym Body Renew is really great :) Thank you.
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!! Not only do you have to SEND IN a written contract to cancel, but then they wait an extra 30 days to cancel you. I move out of town and have to pay for 2 extra months for a service I can't use? GARBAGE!!!! And when I try and talk to the management about it. The lady hangs ups on me! Saying its not my business to talk about company policy? WTF? I am a member. A rude bitch. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Curious? Just look them up on the Better Business Bureau. They have an F rating.
