The Worst experience. When we signed up for membership the person over there told it was a contract membership even when specifically asked for. When we wanted to terminate the membership then they told us it was an yearly contract and we got really mad that had to pay up so much to terminate the membership. I would not recommend it anyone just because of the fact that the person signing us up kept us in dark about the contract. There are many other health clubs in the area which I think would offer honest services. Have never had this kind of an experience before at any of the health clubs that we were a member of. Will never ever go back to any sport and health for club membership.
If you're wondering which frederick location to use, choose this one. S&H south is WAY better than North. It's cleaner, has better weight training equipment and a better staff. It feels like home. Good luck if you need to call and ask a question. There's no way to just call and get a human being. If none of the membership consultants, the gm, or trainers are in there's no way to get through. That's a bummer. Oh, and sometimes in the morning they decide not to open. 11/5/14 I've been waiting for 30 minutes, still no sign of life. Had t9 go to gold's gym down the road.
I love this gym! The staff, trainers, and instructors are always friendly, encouraging, and accessible. The facility and equipment are clean, especially the child care center. The machines are always available. Classes are easy to follow and you have a great feeling of friendly competition and support. The downside is finding close parking during the evening rush hours. I have two young kids so each extra step matters!)
