I have been going to trainers and pros for years as a competitive bicyclist, yoga instructor, and general fitness "nut". Quite simply, Mike is the most gifted trainer I have ever met. He was able to assess exactly what motion I needed to work on to balance my body, created a tailored program unlike anything I have every experienced, and in about 60 days cured a lower back problem I have had most of my life. My overall sense of wellness has improved beyond what I thought could be achieved and my yoga poses and instruction have improved alongside. Hire him to help you, you won't be disappointed.
I love working out at Coval fitness with their team of trainers! From the time I started, they made it clear through their actions that they were committed to helping me achieve my workout and fitness goals. They also did a great job helping me stay focused when I was getting overwhelmed with my responsibilities outside of the gym. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a trainer!! A+ all the way!!!
I found Coval through a Groupon voucher and thought I'd be there for the trial period only but quickly found it is a great fit for me. The atmosphere is friendly and incredibly supportive. Yes there are some truly fit and trim folks but there are lots of people like me who just want to get healthy and stronger. And everyone gets the same individualized close attention. You are paying for the professional training and support, not for fancy machines or juice bars. And you definitely get your money's worth. Plus you usually get a very personal welcome from Calvin, Mike's dog! Couldn't be better.
I have worked with Mike for almost three years, and in addition to losing weight (my primary goal), I have become much stronger and have much better posture and nutrition. This has given me confidence to try new physical activities (e.g., white-water rafting, backpacking, snorkeling) that I previously thought I was “too old” for (getting close to 50). Mike and his staff are very professional and encouraging, and provide a lot of personal attention (and cues) to make sure that you are doing exercises correctly. Mike also organizes events and programs for gym members that benefit both the community and your goals.
I've been a client of Mike Coval since June, 2012 and work out 3 mornings a week since I've begun. It has been one of the best things I could have ever done for myself. Mike's careful listening to me at the front end as well as his thorough assessment of my capabilities, or lack thereof, allowed him to develop a program tailored to my needs. At my age of 75 I'm not searching to be the next Mr. Atlas, nor necessarily to develop "six pack abs" but rather to develop strength and flexibility in my body that will counteract the neurological condition I have that debilitates the nerves in my extremities. When I came to Mike, I was unable to lift myself out of a chair without pushing up with my arms. After enough direction from Mike and hard work on my part I can now get up from a seated position using only my legs to raise myself. I know it sounds like very little to many but for me this has improved my quality of life dramatically. We have continued to work on other strength and flexibility activities which have greatly aided me and given me a boost in self confidence that allows me to not be dragged down by my condition. I can't say enough positive things about this experience and about Mike and his careful attention to each one of our individual needs as we participate in his program. I'd strongly encourage others who have a desire to improve their quality of life to look into what Mike Coval and his team can offer to assist in this goal. Thank you Mike for a great job.
