Gold's Gym
Reviews
I have loved my time at Gold's Gym. The staff members have worked with me to create a fitness plan with personal training sessions that fit my budget. Steven has been a wonderful personal trainer. I believe his background in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training has been an invaluable asset to the company and to my personal fitness program. He has gone above and beyond to meet my personal fitness needs. The facility is clean, the staff members are friendly, and the personal trainers have experience. In addition, the gym just got a TON of new equipment!! After the initial fifteen seconds of confusion as to things being moved around, it was exciting to get to try out the new machines. Overall, I am very satisfied and happy with my time at Gold's Gym.
My experience with Gold's Gym has been pretty good. Mostly I go for my training sessions with Bruce who has been very good for me - my general fitness, strength and conditioning have all improved considerably and Bruce constructs the sessions in such a way that keeps them varied and interesting. Much has been written about the condition of the machines - I don't use the treadmills and such too much - just as a warm up before my session - but I have yet to arrive to find there isn't one available. The place can get pretty crowded sometimes which makes finding the right equipment at the right time a challenge... but if it is that busy, doesn't that mean they are doing something right?
I was very impressed with my trainer Shanae. She really knew what to say to help keep me motivated. She also showed me some great exercises to do to help get my figure back. I didn't know how to use the equipment before but she showed me how without judging me. She's very nice and funny also.
The only reason I go to this gym is location. That is the ONLY reason. The equipment if fair, but often broken. The gym is very crowded at times. Most of the people that I talk with at the gym share the same feelings. The service is almost amusing. You cannot even get a hello or goodbye from the front desk. The management hides behind closed doors, and the training staff looks like they hate their lives. I will say that there are two younger female trainers that actually talk with members of the gym, and seem to care about what they are doing. I don't go for smiles. I go to lift weights, but it is worth mentioning in a review if you are looking for a good overall experience. I have even thought about opening a gym, because this gym is so poorly run. The only reason this place is full is location, and absolutely nothing else.
Everything is always broken down. They charge a maintenance fee every year but rarely replace anything. some equipment has been broke for months. Been a member for 2 years and ready to leave.
