Great experience so far!! I signed up recently and for the first time andI am motivated about my workouts and body transformation. I am working with Jeremy,a personal trainer, for LA Fitness-Valrico and can tell you that I am excited about my health. I can't wait to go to the doctors and see the change in my internal functions. Working with Jeremy takes me back to playing sports in Texas (and we all know how important sports are in Texas..lol) I'm learning a lot of information about body functions and living a healthier lifestyle. My workouts are intense and challenging but Jeremy is very encouraging as well. The great thing is that he knows his information very well (I say that because he analyzes your goals, and then develops a workout plan for you, which has many alternatives, explains in detail the agenda for the session prior to the workout) and he speaks highly of all of the staff and personal trainers which gives me a good feeling in working with any of the trainers there. My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PART ABOUT PERSONAL TRAINING IS BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR MY ACTIONS!! The trainers record your workouts after each session, which helps you keep up with your progress, and it's good for developing a vision of triumph. All in all, the facility is a great investment for your overall well-being.. It's affordable, clean, convenient (there's a childrens area here too!!), friendly staff, plenty of activities to choose from w/in the gym, and fun. Overall LA Fitness Valrico is a great place to improve your overall quality of life.
Had been a member for a few months and the experience began to deteriorate. All stemming from the weights not being put away. The equipment is dirty, broken. The atmosphere is just stale and dull. Trash all over the weight room . The personal trainers are all talk and promise you they will help you during your "free" session, but that was not the case. They just leave you hanging and aren't very good. I would never recommend anyone to join La Fitness.
Although this is is a fairly new facility, the maintenance is poor, dirty bathrooms & looks like mold in showers, The Same Trash around pool/spa for days area not as clean as it should be. Unprofessional management.
Very new, very clean with a friendly motivated staff and non-pushy salespeople but a few negatives, as well. Overall I'm happy with my membership. PROS: New equipment (most guided machines like ellipticals, treadmills, and bikes seem state-of-the-art tech-wise), tons and tons of dumbbells, multiple racks of medicine balls, a very large free weights area, two large workout rooms - one for spinning, one for variety work, and a healthy drinks snackbar as well, both large locker rooms and mini-on-the-wall lockers for people to store keys, etc... CONS: Crummy opening hours - they open on weekends WAY too late (I've personally seen up to 10 cars sitting in the parking lot waiting for them to finally open on Sat/Sundays at 8am), in a similar vein they're not open late enough (imho, every health-club should be open 24 hours), a tiny pool that's frequently tied up with smaller groups who don't even need the entire pool but who bogart it anyway, an unfortunately tiny parking area (woe be the member who comes at prime time - good luck), and finally, a hugely missed opportunity to have a smaller indoor running track (they clearly had the space but for some odd reason decided not to bother, sadly - I brought it up to one employee and she made the laughably lame excuse that "it would be too difficult for members to make it across the track if people were running on it." As if we'd literally have people racing around it at 40mph. LOL All those things being said, some of those complaints are my own personal disappointments (smaller pool and lack of a running track), so overall, I'm quite pleased with my membership. Here's to hoping that they extend their hours someday soon!
