YMCA
Reviews
Parking lot full of spectator parents Basketball courts full of elementary kid games Pool full of elementary swim team practice and meets Racquetball courts full of day care, karate and kids generally doing things that are not racquetball. I try going every day after work and generally spend my first full 15 minutes trying to find a parking spot. After either getting lucky with one of the 40 designated YMCA parking lot spots or side street metered parking I can go in and start becoming disappointed with how many kids are here. And then all their non member parents are too. If your an adult looking to join a fitness center, this is not the one for you. Don't spend your money. If your a parent that wants to let your kid run around, by all means welcome home. Which is really unfortunate because it's a fairly descent facility which has been utilized completely for kids basketball, swimming, karate and day care.
very nice facility, too bad the schedules and the size of the venue don't adequately meet the needs of the community. i love the adults only locker rooms, but wish they would have a place for the serious athlete/swimmer/fitness seeker and another place for the kids and the loungers.
I'm torn on how to review this YMCA. On the one hand it has fantastic racquetball courts, pool, basketball, and track. On the other hand the gym is way to cramped and small. Unfortunately that's the area I use most so I don't really enjoy it. The need to knock out the wall for one of their classrooms on the second floor and expand the free weight section.
Great, family-friendly place to work out. Babysitting is always free. There are activities that children of all ages can participate in.
