WARNING people who sign up for LAFitness's personal training program. I do not recommend it. In my case, an immediate family member died during the first month of my training. At this time my family needs my emotional and financial support. I have spent the last month debating with my local LAFitness gym and LAFitness's "member services" hotline over the cancellation of both of my memberships. As of now, LAFitness refuses to relieve me of early termination fees totaling around $480. LAFitness also charged me $90 for this month of personal training and won't provide a refund. The only terms for cancelling your contract without penalty are if you die, or become totally incapacitated. Personally I will not sign a contract with LAFitness in the future. This experience has been embarrassing, miserable and insulting.

LA Fitness Avon is by far the cleanest LA Fitness that I've ever entered in the state of Indiana let alone, the country. Nothing is ever broken around here and if you report it to the front desk, it gets fixed immediately. I moved to Indy about 5 years ago and originally signed up at the Glendale location. I moved to Avon about 3 years ago due to work and I have fell in love with this gym. The Operations Manager, Kyle Monroe, is by far the most professional young man I've ever dealt with in a business. He always has a smile on his face and goes out his way to help the members of the gym. I had an issue with my account and he assured me that it would get fixed and sure enough when I came in the next day, it was fixed. As a consumer, you've got to love it when you see the Operations Manager cleaning the windows at the front desk, mopping the floor and even changing towel paper in the locker rooms. This young man takes pride in the fitness center he is running and definitely is a great image for LA Fitness. I sure do hope that the company recognizes this young man for his hard work.

Been at Avon for about a year. Clean gym, nice staff and a great environment to workout in. Not a lot a meat heads, but laid back individuals. A+ Gym!

Nice gym with many amenities

Avon LA fitness will never get my business, along with my family and extended family we have referred. My parents have been long time customers of LA Fitness in Avon, ever since it opened. They have received nothing but attitude from the staff there. I was a grad student, so I only came home for break. My mom had a guest pass for me to go work out with her when I was home for vacation. As we are checking in, I show my ID and am asked if I plan to join. I told him my situation and how I was grad student with no LA fitness near where I lived. As soon as he realized I was going to provide him no business, he told me I couldn't use the guest pass because I do not plan on joining and I do not live near there. My address on my ID is still my parents Indianapolis address, but that didn't seem to matter since I told him I went to school elsewhere. He literally told me not to come back until I plan on joining, and we went on our way. I could not believe what I was hearing, what kind of customer service is that? Well, my parents kept their membership that time because as the reviews earlier state, it is impossible to cancel your membership. Recently, my sister moved back home to Indianapolis and plans on joining LA Fitness again to give it another chance. She also had joined when it first opened, but moved away shortly after. This morning she tried to go to get a two week pass to try it out to see if it's still what it was a few years ago. When the manager on duty found out that my sister had been a previous member, she refused to give her a pass to try it out. She said "Well, you already know what it's like". My mom asked to speak to one of the managers that we have dealt with in the past, and the Manager on duty got very snappy and made it clear that my sister was not receiving a 2 week pass to try it out. My mom then asked for the number of corporate and she replied "Well here is the number, and you can call and tell them everything you hate about me". What kind of professionalism is that? I'm not a business major, but I do know that a manager should NEVER speak to a customer in that manner. My mom was then furious (which NEVER happens), and told the lady about how loyal of a customer she has been and that she does not deserve this treatment. The "manager" then said in a sarcastic voice "Well, would you like me to cancel your membership today?". For my parents to be such loyal customers and refer 20+ family members to LA Fitnesses in the Indianapolis area, you would think that something as simple as using a valid guest pass and a two week trial pass should not be an issue. But unfortunately because of these events, LA Fitness will be losing our business. The YMCA has better customer service, good equipment with a better value. So I wouldn't even waste my time and money dealing with them. To all of you that plan on joining, BE AWARE! I let the first time slip, but there is no good explanation on why they treat their customers with no respect. And to those that already have a membership and are stuck, talk to this lady... she would just love to cancel your membership so she doesn't have to deal with people, considering she's terrible at it.
