Gold's Gym
Reviews
First off, I LOVE the staff. They are super nice. When my husband and I went in to get information on the gym, we were shown around by the owner and he answered every question and concern we had. For me, that really shows customer service. I love that there is a verity of classes and machines so that you can optimize your work out. The locker room/showers are amazing. I get hot hot water every time. I went to a yoga class there and the teacher is amazing. She's friendly and really knows how to make you feel comfortable. The only thing I didn't like was the classroom was freezing cold, however the class before yoga is an intense workout so I'm sure they really enjoyed it! Another key point that I love is the daycare. It's very secure and has cameras so that you can check in on your little one while they play without them seeing you and getting upset. Overall, we love this gym and are very happy with our choice to join!
This gym has the WORST customer service on this planet. I went there to try out a Tabata class with my friend. First off, they tried to charge me $15 to TRY out a class that was nothing but an hour long. To top that off the blonde girl at the front desk was extremely RUDE. AWFUL, AWFUL customer service, she was stuck up and looked at me like I was nothing. To the blonde girl, if you're reading this, just so you know, I'm sure my government employed self (no military affiliation) would have loved to pay you and your company money if it weren't for how rude you were to me. To continue, I attended the Tabata class. The instructor was HORRIFIC. I educated myself on Tabata before attending and she did no follow the format AT ALL, I wasn't even tired, I was barely sweating. I was so turned off by this place I immediately left. Will never ever step foot in this gym again, and to those reading this, don't sign up with this Gold's Gym it will be a mistake. I'll take my chances at the crowded ass gyms on Camp Lejeune.
I'm on vacation and called this golds since it was close to where i was staying. Danny at the desk informed me to call my home gym and have them fax over a travel pass, which they did. When I got to the gym, danny already knew who I was, had me sign my travel pass and was good to go. He was so friendly and very professional! Worked out for 2 plus hours and had a great workout!
My husband has a gym membership here, I have been wanting to go to the gym and havent had the time due to work. I also really havent wanted to go by myself. Today we both had the day off, so we decided to go together. I found on their website that you can use a 7day VIP if you have never been to that gym before, which I have not. The 7 Day VIP is a free 7day Trial of this gym. We were both excited to go and work out together when we went inside, we were waiting in line to give them my VIP Pass and a gentleman walked up to us named Danny, introduced himself and said " I see that you have a VIP pass but Im still going to charge you $15 because Im not excepting those today because I am the only gym in town open," At this point my husband and I looked at eachother and said ok and walked out. Rude. Horrible Marketing. and Humiliating. First of all, I know this gentleman lied about being the only Gym in town that was open. I know at least three that are open right now. I will never go back to Golds Gym. I have already called Corporate, Hopefully they can do something to get this rude, money hungry man out of business.
I've worked and worked out in the fitness industry for over 15 years, and if you are looking for a gym with horrible customer service and poor attitudes this is the place. Being in gyms all over America this is one of the most unwelcoming atmospheres I have ever experienced. I will be taking my time and money elsewhere, thank you, and from the sounds of other people I have met while I've been down here it's pretty common.
