Dragon Gym Martial Arts & Fitness

I joined Dragon Gym and the Muay Thai program about 4 years ago. I absolutely love this place! its a very old school gym. Lonnie is an amazing Coach and overall great human being. I have learned mental philosophies there which are relevant in everyday life. It is not just about punching people in the face, although I would be lying if I said I didnt enjoy that part! People always ask me why I enjoy it so much. I always tell them "just try it!". Highly recommended to ANYBODY of any age or fitness level!!!
I've been training at Dragon Gym for the better half the last decade, more recently focused in Muay Thai with Coach Lonnie Beck. The classes are designed to foster the deep traditional roots of Muay Thai with elements of western boxing. Somehow, Coach Lonnie is able to make the training applicable to fighters of all experience levels, each session better than the last. If you're looking to commit to a style of fighting in its purest form, look no further.
Master Somnath Sikdar is an extremely motivating and skilled instructor with a unique instructing style that constantly keeps you on your toes. No two classes are the same and every time I leave the Dragon Gym I feel accomplished, focused, and exhausted! If you are a goal-oriented individual looking to get in great shape while simultaneously learning a new skill, I would highly recommend enrolling in Tae Kwon Do at Dragon Gym. I was hesitant at first but not I am extremely glad I made the decision to become a student and I sincerely believe that these classes have made more a more focused, driven and understanding person.
-DGMT- Hands down the best martial arts gym I have seen. The friendly atmosphere, welcoming people and motivation is great. I'm in the Dragon Gym Muay Thai group, and I can easily say the Muay Thai program, taught by instructor Lonnie Beck is phenomenal. I came in nervous and confused, and in a couple weeks I felt right at home, learning with people of all levels experience. 7 months later, I find myself welcoming and passing on what I know to new students. The good vibes are contagious!
Rob Akers. Akers Of Strength I joined the Dragon Gym Family in early 2010 when I was attending college. Since then I have had the opportunity and privilege of working with Somnath Sikdar. As graduation approached, anxiety began to set in as I pondered “what do I do now”? That same year I received my first certification as a Coach. In the midst of celebrating this accomplishment, I realized that I did not know what the hell to do with it. Over the past few years Som has selflessly guided me on my journey as a Fitness Professional. He has given me so many opportunities at Dragon Gym to sharpen my coaching skills and improve my business. As an educator, Som is a dedicated and gifted instructor. It is quite rare to find a teacher that possesses such a well-rounded repertoire of skills. I think the most prominent influence I have obtained from Som is that although he possesses credentials and certifications at the highest level in both Martial Arts and Fitness, he still remains a student and is constantly searching for more knowledge and growth. There is not a single student/athlete that cannot benefit from working with this man.
