Reviews
These guys get results. Customer service is solid here, they seem to work proactively and address questions immediately and look for solutions, and I appreciate that. There's a lot of regulars here that have been coming to the gym for a long time, and the overall atmosphere is fun. Cleanliness is also important to me and that is a non issue here. Your looking at a happy customer.
Too expensive for what they have. I think $39/month is a little too much for such facility.
It's not the best gym, but it is one of the cheapest (and for me, it's the closest to my house). The facilities are ok, but there's a lingering funk around the locker areas. Occasionally you'll get a treadmill that skips, an elliptical that clanks, or other semi-busted equipment. The weights, however, are great. There's lots of stations and never a long wait. I also don't feel crowded by people there. I haven't used any of the classes or the other facilities such as the pool, yoga studio, or the racquetball courts. I also haven't used any of the trainers. After reading the reviews, and going there for a couple months, I would not likely get any of those services either. People seem to be pretty lazy there (except for the cleaning person, they always seem to be working really hard). In the end, you very much get what you pay for. For $150/month at Equinox I got the best yoga classes, cool towels with eucalyptus, and Keihls products in the shower. For $30/month at LA Fitness, you get workout equipment and showering at home for fear of "the funk."
For the price, this club/gym has everything I need. Cleaning staff is active. The pool sometimes gets a funny smell for some reason. Another member told me they saw someone get in with their sneakers on.. then I saw the water aerobics instructor do it.. really? You work here and should know better. You're nasty!
It is a great gym, basketball is the focus there with tons of pick up games. It is even better because they are talented players.
