When I went to Micheal and asked if he could help this short old, woman be able to tie her shoes, and get off the floor when she fell as she got older; he accepted the challenge. In a few months I dead-lifted 215 lbs.! If you want to be challenged to work out at a level that won't hurt you, have fun with his hundreds of exercise ideas, experience using effective equipment- this is the place for you. His facility is clean and you'll meet some great people. No intimidation here. Motivational coaching and music. I'm always excited about going there, enjoy my time there, and never want to leave after my workout. I feel great!
If you are looking for a trainer who is vested in helping you reach your personal goal, then look no further! You may think I'm biased....since Michael is my husband... but I see first hand the difference he makes in his clients' health and fitness. When you train with Michael, he doesn't just plan individual workouts meant to help you reach your goal, he plans a program for you. He knows where you start and how to get you to where you want to be. He loves what he does. He must, because he does research every day! Not kidding!! He keeps up on the latest research on fitness and nutrition, he is aware of the crazy fads that are out there, and he knows what works! Give him a try. Best thing you can do for yourself in the new year and beyond!
I've been working out with Michael for two summers now when I am back home from school and baseball. Every summer I have worked with him I have left bigger, faster, and stronger than when I started. His training style is different from your conventional lifts and that makes it fun. I would recommend Michael to anyone looking to better themselves physically, plus you meet some pretty cool people with the same goals as you have which can keep you motivated!
I met Mike through a mutual friend and he challenged me to give his workouts a try. I've been a long distance runner for over 20 years and had just started doing Crossfit and was loving the weight lifting portions of the workouts. Mike promised me great results with his plan and he delivered! He designed a program specific to my goals and abilities and within three months I had dramatically increased the amount of weight I could lift. He was able to fix my form issues with what seemed to me like minor tweaks but in reality were huge in that they prevented injury and allowed me to do the lift correctly. Not living in Champaign I usually train at my local gym. Mike is always available to answer any question or explain how to do a lift. I would not hesitate to recommend Mike to anyone who is serious about fitness! He knows his stuff!
I have been training with Michael for a little more than two years now. I am now probably in the best shape I have ever been. Michael has a knack for working you hard without it feeling like it. He observes what you do and is always giving you exercises to balance you out. I can't recommend him highly enough.
