Mettler Center

Mettler Physical Therapy is the only place to go for Physical Therapy! The MRT technique Dr. Paul Mettler has invented and perfected makes all the difference in the world to reaching your best recovery level. I have been treated for several different issues over the last 14 year by the therapy department. I have seen them for: fibromyalgia pain and tightness in the muscles in my thigh and hip, broken right tibula from falling on the stairs, fell off a ladder and had broken T-7, left ramus bone, and left sacrum wing, treated for cervicalgia (neck/shoulder) pain and tight muscles, plantar fasciitis, and also how to manage my scoliosis. I have friends who went to other facilities for physical therapy, but they did not get the results I have. They still have pain. Some have throbbing aches and feel worse when it is going to rain. My friends did not get back the range of mobility they had hoped for. Some are limited in their activites or their endurance to do activities. Dr. Mettler has the right idea. You have to loosen up the muscle and break up the scar tissue through the MRT technique before you can start getting results from stretching and exercising the area. Other physical therapists have you start stretching and exercising right away and that sometimes this is harmful. This can limit your range of motion later which may cause you to still have pain and stiffness in that area. I live an hour away and it is worth the drive and time to get the best treatment around. I am always pleased with my treatments. My therapist is always good to communicate with me. Each session he talks about my condition, what the days treatment will be and what the goals are for future sessions. He is very knowledgeable about many medical conditions. He understands and can talk about how my muscles move and how they affect each other. I learned the tightness in the scapula affected my upper trapezius, and rhomboid muscles. This was then causing tightness and pain in my tight biceps and triceps. He is knowledgeable about fibromyalgia and knows how to help the patient understand it, how to manage it better. He was helpful in teaching me how to exercise and stretch so my pain would be less from my daily activities, bending, and lifting. When my treatments were almost finished, the therapist had me start working with Bart, who is a personal trainer. Bart is also knowledgeable about fibromyalgia, many medical conditions, and also understands how to work with your limitations. Bart helped me add in more exercises and stretches to the program my therapist had already started with me. Bart and the therapist were both good to explain what muscles the exercise was working and they helped me modify the movement if it was causing too much pain. Both of them are good with people. They are upbeat, have encouraging attitudes. They both keep updated on their knowledge of medical things, equipment, medical research and studies. They both strive to be the best they can be in their field. It is always a pleasure to work with the physical therapists and with the personal trainers. If you or someone you know needs physical therapy and/or a personal trainer, contact the Mettler Center. They are the best around.
Mettler Center is the BEST gym I've ever been to. It has such a great variety of classes, and all of the intructors are super friendly and helpful! There is also a kids' room with great hours. And if you want to expand your horizons even more try a cooking class (kids or adults) or even get a massage!!! I can't say enough good things about this place. I have more motivation and encouragement here than anywhere ever before!
I especially value the personal training. The cooking classes have been valuable. Excellent OT evaluations.
