I love going to this place and the price is good too for what they offer.
I LOVE this gym! It's sooo much cleaner than Gold's and members are actually treated as valued and important! Great environment and amazingly friendly staff! Open pretty much 24 hours makes it easy for me to get to the gym on my own time! I would recommend this gym to everyone... the classes are pretty fab too!
The Refinery carried me through three years of law school, and two years after graduation I still miss the establishment. As a graduate student I had zero interest in a social scene and a great deal in convenience; thus, with its well-illuminated myriad of machines, it suited me perfectly. They have two entire sets of dumbbells with televisions mounted and a wide assortment of weight machines, in addition to two entire rows of ellipticals, several rows of treadmills, step machines and both upright and recumbent bikes. Most of the machines have a personal television and DVD player attached, which I have never seen at any other gym. They also offer a wide variety of classes in several studios - while I cannot attest to the quality of most, I did participate in yoga at least twice per week and enjoyed it immensely. My membership included three free sessions with a personal trainer, whose company I greatly appreciated and enjoyed. Perhaps things have changed since I departed, but I had to counter the negative reviews - I still have the membership tag hanging on my key chain as a momento of law school. A most highly recommended establishment.
Well maintained and clean gym! I wouldn't deny it's a little over-priced, but it's only because it's very well maintained and I wouldn't mind spending $10 extra for cleanliness and facilities provided.
Going green is a mockery at the Refinery. They advertise "going green" as they joke about a green tennis shoe on their marketing displays. Real Funny! They don't recycle ANYTHING. Their dumpsters are over flowing with plastic bottles, glass bottles and cardboard boxes. They only thing that looked environmentally friendly was a few light bulbs. The Refinery's mockery of "going green" will keep me from spending any more green there.
